Open source car racing game

[nippynoo]

Anyone got any experience of open source car racing games using OpenGL such as
http://torcs.sourceforge.net/ ??

or is there something better? I need to modify the code to add data-recording (e.g. torque, power, speeds, accelerations) for a university project.

Just found this as well
http://speed-dreams.sourceforge.net/

Looks like its based on Torcs

I guess I should ask in some other open source games forum, but where?

Thanks but this isnt a racing game, its a sim for manouevring trucks and cranes etc, very impressive soft body physics, but simple graphics. Would need a lot of work to add the racetrack, multiplayer, etc,

There is also Vdrift http://vdrift.net/ don't know what the code is like but the game looks pretty good and its got an active developer community.
