Opera, where have you been all this time!

I'm afraid I've tried Opera several times and never liked it much, I always came back to Firefox. Right now I've been converted to IE 7 Beta, though, has replaced Firefox as my browser of choice, amazingly enough I like it a lot! :D

I've had Opera for a day and everything is perfect apart from 2 things:
1. No Bookmark Bar underneath address bar.
2. In FF, when i had a RSS feed you could click on it and it would give you another menu. Then you picked what you wanted to read. In Opera, it only shows you an overall point of the feed and then you had to click on another link to open it.

If anyone knows of any plug-ins for this, I'd be grateful.

View-> Toolbars-> Customise. Click on "Show hidden toolbars when customising" (bottom left of pop up)

Customise Opera to how you want it to look. I've got mine set up very minimalistically:

Not shown is the pop up window on the left hand side (which is set to show my mail) which is on toggle, click the line and out it comes.

2. How do you open a new tab with the keyboard and mouse? My laptop has no middle click button and with firefox I was able open a new tab holding ctrl and clicking on the link. Is there a similar way with Opera?

Ctrl+Shift+N opens a new tab, or if I'm in a webpage right click on the link and you'll see the options to open in new page or open in background.

i used opera a few weeks back, used the beta 9 version, got it to look just like firefox aswell. Anyway all was going well until opera decided not to load up any web pages at all

tried everything to fix it, reintall, cookies, clear cache etc etc but still wasnt having it.

back to firefox now!

That just opens a blank tab. What I wanted to know was clicking on a link and having it open in a new tab. Ctrl+shift+left click works fine. With Firefox it was just Ctrl+left click.

Just handy to know as its a pain when using the touchpad on my laptop. No middle button to click you see.

Opera doesn't appear to allow the saving of all open tabs in a folder like Firefox.:(

But it has something that pretty much does the same thing.

File > Sessions > Save this session.... > call it what ever you want. You can then bring up all the tabs again is the Sessions menus again.

'Sucks' eh? Right. Thanks for your input.

no problemo!

just thought it was rather awkward compared to Firefox, the whole password wand thing was a ball ache.
