Operating Temp of P4 3GHz CPU / 3GB mem

This operates (Winbond Hardware Doctor) when processor = 100% (e.g. AVG scan maxes out at 100%) at about 62 deg C. (not overclocked)

"No Load" temp = ~50 deg C.

It has a big Zalman "Flower" cooler.

At same time "system" temp = 35 deg C
PWM (?) = 45 Deg C

Is this OK or should I take the heat sink off, clean up and apply a new THIN film of Arctic Silver?

Nothing wrong with that, don't waste your time. They are rated to around 75C iirc.
If it's anything like the winbond sensors on my BD7-II mobo then I wouldn't pay it much attention anyway, I managed to hit 92C 'system' temp on that allegedly (yes... system temp.... was way higher than cpu core!).
