Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

I am a little worried about the low MP numbers. The co-op I get for this game, but I just haven't worked out yet in my head how the MP will go. Will have to visit their site this weekend.

Its 4 vs 4 with each human player having 3 AI so 32 players total. 8 humans and 24 AI.

Or you can play as 8 humans on one side against 6 squads of PLA AI.

Oh so it can never be pure PVP? That seems a bit of a shame.

I was always wondering how the MP was going to work also, the picture in my head was closed off sections of the vast map with 32 v 32 and probably objective based.

I believe there's still 4v4 pure players as well sorry I wasnt clear on that. The map is never sectioned off on MP only objectives and focal points keep the players together. If you want to run off....you can :)

Ahh cool, it does however still seem a bit odd that it's only 4v4 on such a huge map? Especially considering there are vehicles that can carry upto 6 others.

I know keeping players in a nearish kinda vicinity is a tough job and im also hoping the objectives will be varied enough and not just the generic battlefield capture the point malarky, however tempting that is.

At the same time it does still get me giddy at the thought of taking this badboy online! Looking forward to epic fights (albeit slow and tactical - suits me just fine) and co-op i think will be gloriously good fun!

Last thing, went onto gametrailers to show some mates video's of this game, i turn round to see 3x :eek: face's which is gotta be a good sign! Im quite suprised actually this thread isn't considerably larger. Anyone see the tank firing video? Jesus that is realism.

me and my mate been thinking of nicknames for ofp, his gonna be called "grinder" and im going to be called "crash" i won’t go into detail about his name as that wouldn’t be appropriate for these forums, but i will be a chopper pilot most of the time so you can see the link to my nickname :P
 
Bit of info.

On coop there's a tethering systems due to net code so when you're playing with friends the max distance you can stray from each other is 275M

This is a net code issue but for realism it wont be a problem. A fire team operates between 50m-150m in real life.

On SP and MP you'll be able to wander off as far as you like though.
