Operation Fresh Toast H440 Watercooled

Very nice - love my pair of H440's. Would not buy a motherboard with "Big Bang" on it :-)

Also have 2xTX in an H440 but only on air at the mo. Custom fan profile in AB and all good.

Well we happen to live in a universe that started with a Big bang :D
However MSI couldn't repair or replace my motherboard so gave me £64.80 as a refund. It's taking the **** and I am not happy

Not gonna lie - that sounds loud.

I finished the painting of both the backplate and the mesh that I can see.

The new plan is to paint the thermal armour of the Z77 Sabertooth. Probably gonna be predominantly white with yellow accents. We're gonna need more plastidip!

So after the success of painting the backplate and mesh I wanted to paint the black of case to yellow to match my colour scheme.

However it seems it wasn't meant to be as the paint bubbled and left this horrible texture. I have no idea why but I think it was cause the plastic was vertical during painting.

Fortunately I peeled it all off and will try spray painting it next time.

Penultimate update!

I finally got around to painting the case and motherboard. For the motherboard I used white plastidip and for the case I used Buttercup yellow Valspar fast dry project enamel. Learning from previous attempts I did all the painting in a very warm room which accelerated drying and helped with adhesion.

Enough boring talk, more pictures:

The paint work came out superb mate, really like the clean white/yellow colour scheme. Matches up with the fluid / cables very well, excellent job!

I would have been too scared to paint the mobo, but it looks good and was certainly worth the effort.

Shows that you don't need to buy a mobo that matches your colour theme if you've got the nerve!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Mobo painting wasn't bad as it's a sabertooth so I took the thermal armour off and painted it separately.

Last things will be installing a new temp probe as I broke my old one (gotten through about 6), paint the orange parts of the ssds yellow and get a bloody backplate for the soundcard.

The PC looks great, the yellow and white colour scheme certainly fits the system well now that the case and motherboard has been painted to match (The H440 looks better than expected with yellow accents). The system ties up nicely with the coolant as well :D

Great job :)

Thanks for the comments!

I have 2 planned modifications.

Firstly I am going to paint the rear PCI covers and the orange of the SSDs yellow to match the rest of the build.

Secondly I am going to be making a backplate for the soundcard. The plan is to buy some precut 3mm aluminum, drill some countersunk holes and paint it. I'll need to get some longer screws and plastic washers as well.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: I am also considering making a custom cover for the PSU shroud. However it will not be simple due to the shape and lighting effects. We'll see.
