Opportunity for in ceiling/wall speakers; Advice?

Here's some photos of the living room, where I'd want the TV space. I'm considering pulling the whole fire bit out when I get the boiler changed and possibly having that as the TV space

The cupboard? There's a hot water tank, which will be removed when I change boiler

I would fill the door in on the front....create a small door on the side and house all av gear in the cupboard out of sight..

Get rid of the fireplace...mount the TV and put the in wall speakers in place...

easy install....I had to get my mate with a diamond saw to come and cut holes in breeze block for my in walls speakers !

I’ll post a pic of my setup in a bit...I’ve upgraded my in walls anyway so I need to update my thread...

Sounds a reasonable use of the space

I had considered tucking everything in the cupboard in bedroom 3? Is that just going to cause me problems running cables /controlling things?

No point if you have that central cupboard...all the cables could route back to there centrally..

TVs look cool on a wall with nothing underneath them...no wires, no boxes....no cabinets just a centre in wall speaker :D

So, if I go with fireplace goes, TV there, cabinet for the equipment etc.
As there is a window to the right, what would the best plan be for the rest of the speakers? Would in ceiling ones be good? Or is that just a fad when going for surround sound?

Depends if you go the Atmos route...

Right, had a wee read
So 5.1.2 sounds my thing I think for the TV space. Atmos sounds nice haha
Now would the rears being mounted in the wall be reasonable? Ideally I'd like everything as unobtrusive as possible, but front right and left being bookshelf /free standing sounds fine.

So, if I had that, then 2 speakers in my kitchen ceiling for general music, and ideally another 2 in the small bedroom (gym)
Could I drive that all from one unit in the living room, or am I looking at pre amps at this stage? Or is that all down to speaker choice?

Why floor standers at the front when you have that wall...

This is an old picture I found on my laptop....TV floating, In wall speakers and projector screen that pulls down over the TV
