Frankly for anything other than medical reasons it should be illegal to force upon another person. Once you hit 16 if you choose to do it yourself then fine, but to do it to a small child is frankly barbaric.

it would be interesting to hear from any parents here that chopped off parts of their children... I would be interested to know why they thought it was a good idea... fun? fashion?

Isn't the religious thing partly stemmed from cut ones being desensitised, which hopefully would stifle sexual urges?

As a parent the thought of mutilating my child for the sake of religion makes me feel sick to be honest.

On another topic - what do you do about your man hair? Leave/Trim/Bald Eagle? :p

i shave it off. Since i was 16 ive shaved it off completely.

I have a razer that has the electric shaver on the end, i use that without the guard on and go all over :)

I think it's not on to remove any part of someone's body without their consent for anything other than medical reasons irrespective of the usefulness of that body part or any religious delusions the parents may have.

I snapped my banjo string in my first sexual relationship. Stung like hell, but was fine within a week.

JESUS MAN  I just got over cringing from the last time I heard of this happening to someone...

I think it is wrong that I am given no choice in the matter when im born whether or not they Chop my carrot.

Have I missed something, who's being forced?

If you're talking bout yourself, and your parents who made the decision... then all I can say is that it's not really a big deal.

There's been a lot of talk on this subject lately and I actaully watched one circumcision video and came to the conclusion: NOT GOOD  But hey... babies cry for everything, he might not have been in pain (I find that hard to believe... but I don't know enough to comment really; I'd assume the baby isn't in pain though...).

You could argue because they have it done when they are babies they didn't get a say in whether it happens to them, therefore they had no say in it and were forced due to lack of choice.

would it not be logical, that unless we have other evidence the baby does feel the pain?

even if the baby for some freakish reason does not feel it, thats still not justification for cutting body parts off....

why do people cut it off for religous reasons anyway? was is an accident, maybe something translated wrong?

what happened?

'ok lads, no murder we are agreed one'
'but we need one more rule.......'
'come on lads we need an even number of rules'
'I wonna go home jsut add "chop of the lads foreskin for a laugh" and we will take it out before the book goes to print...

role on press day and they forgot to remove it...

Why on earth would you come to that conclusion? There's debate as to whether the abortion 'limit' should be taken down from 24 weeks because the foetus has the appropriate nerve and brain development to feel pain developing relatively soon after this point. To say that a newborn or a 1-2 month old doesn't feel pain or to quote earlier ...
Fact is that my nephew had his done about a month after he was born...sure it hurt him but it was best to do it at that time as the pain wasnt too much to be unbearable as the nerves arent fully developed.
... is frankly rubbish. They're more than capable of feeling pain, they're simply unable to express it in a means other than crying. As an adult, we then say, 'Oh, but babies cry all the time, it can't be that bad', but both adults and babies cry for a number of reasons, so this can hardly be justification.

I don't particularly condemn circumcision for religious or social reasons, as it's unlikely to change, but to justify it on the pain front doesn't make sense to me.

He certainly will mate.

Dozens of muslim babies have it done every day world wide.

Which goes someway to explaining why the religion is so hated. Only when Islam and Judaism can move away from the child abuse and barbarism of circumcision which causes so much suffering will it no longer be considered an evil religion where insane people do every evil act a book tells them to do, unfortunately people like him just go to reinforcing the stereotype.

I certainly will do...whats it to you if i decide to do it or not??

Because I am 100% against child abuse, he's a living being not your toy to surgically modify as you wish, if you had any respect for life you would see that. My condolences to any children you may have. With child abusing Muslims such as yourself it is not hard to see how Islam is hated so much. Excuse me while I vomit, ugh.

It's not always done for religious reasons... It's done in America usually because... it's done in America.

They believe it's more hygienic etc

OMG and these poeple have nukes....

lets hope they dont realise how much bacteria is in your mouth, they will be stitching their baby's mouths closed..
