The WD is a touch quicker, maybe 5Mb/s or so.

cool man.. i should be aiming for these AAKS babies..

i saw some ppl post HD Tach benchmarks of 70+ MB.s average transfer rate for AAKS...

Just thought... are 2 250GB drives in RAID0 superior to one 500GB drive? say, 2 7200.10 in RAID0 versus WD Caviar 500GB 5000AAKS?

Raid 0 will be faster than a single drive...

but a single AAKS will be faster than a single 7200.10

Riteo, i think this is my new plan... buy a 7200.10 250GB now... then buy an 500GB AAKS at a later date... then eventually i might buy a 2nd 7200.10 and run in RAID0. Tbh i'm used to a standard HDD that came with my prebuilt HP system so i don't think i'm gonna miss the performance of RAID0 lol

Clv101 - why do you put your apps on the same partition as your o/s, and then have the games on a separate partition?

(Trying to figure out the best way to configure my Seagate 250gb and Samsung 500gb)
