Ordered a pixel 4 and got a google nest instead

I'm sorry you have had such a runaround but this thread has been a great read over the last few weeks, such ineptitude! Have Vodafone actually accepted that the phone is now missing or do they still think you have it and are trying to pull a fast one?

They know its missing, they know it hasnt been used. Ive was phoned by vodafone within an hour of emailing the CEO, and i have a single point of contact, its been taken away from the out of country customer , team, they have put a freeze on the account to stop them billing until resolve, and im due a call back tommorrow.

So
Vodafone directors office
called today, they have agreed that the phone is lost at their fault. They have wiped the charges from my account for new handset upgrade, they also paid this months phone bill, said keep the google nest, offered me a free upgrade with next day delivery and took £10 of my monthly tariff

Without knowing the exact figures involved, this sounds like a fair result given what must have been a thoroughly unpleasant experience.

So @Kurgen - did you get sorted out??

Yes the "directors" offfice called back. they said the google nest i received keep it, its written off. the £100 early upgrade fee and £30 handset fee they paid off my account, they then paid off this months phone bill, then offered me the same phone with no upgrade charge and dropped the tarrif by £10 a month and sent me another google nest and pixel 4

Decent result then tbf. Doesn't excuse the way they handled it before the escalation but at least you have a phone now!

Call center in Rotherham used to deal with things like this (Mrs worked there). Between her office and Scotland they used to have things like this sorted within a week to limit the costs.

Then some moron at HQ figured it'd be cheaper to offload overseas....

So im back to issues with Vodafone. My Pixel4 USB C port doesnt work, i charge via wireless so never needed it. When i started commuting again i wanted to use a headset, but USB C ones (via adaptor) didnt work. i then tried charging via cable didnt work either. Also the screen kept turning off when battery below 50%. after a view chats with google trying factory resets etc, i contacted vodafone and they booked a repair. Sent phone off, and was called a week later by repair team saying couldnt repair it and offered a replacement but would have to be a Pixel4a which is newer and basically the same spec. so i agreed stupidly. when i got the (reconditioned brown box) Pixel4 i put it straight on my wireless pad, and nothing. google the phone and it doesnt to wireless charging. I contacted vodafone who are refusing to take it back as i agreed to take the replacement. They also refused to return the original handset (but this woulndt have mattered as i have since been told by google they dont deal with any warranty its all done by the retailer)

Basically i was conned. I have an escalation case outstanding and im waiting for an update. You can no longer phone or contact anyone in the UK from vodafone. The only way to get a real person on the phone is to say your phones been lost or stolen or your leaving. Last time i emailed the directors email. I guess this has been used to often now and this now reverts to an Indian Call Centre.

If they dont resolve tommorrow, I will sell the phone on here, use the money to pay off outstanding vodafone account , and then im off

Google dealt with my warranty claim on my pixel 4 bought from Vodafone

It's pot luck. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Phone up again and say Vodafone said Google sort it... And keep saying it until they sort it.

didnt bother, i sold the pixel4a on here, and used it to pay of vodafone, so they can shove it up their bums im off

What a Faff.
I am glad I am on BT Mobile - what could go wrong :D - Actually nothing so far in last 18 months.
