Ordered my iMac and all that arrived was...

yes it's a lint roller, i wear black trousers to work and my cats have white bits that find there way everywhere!

and it's a 24''

*ahem* spare dvd case and what looks like an air freshener on your desk. Remove them please :D

Looking good btw

Very nice matey!

Now just get some scissors and cut those strange wire thingies coming from your mouse & keyboard!

:D

Wires are for n00bs.

Give me an Apple keyboard without wires but with a numeric keypad and I'll think about getting one. I use the keypad a lot and I think they messed up by not giving the wireless keyboard a numeric keypad pad.

I have both! well a el'cheapo one and a wired keyboard on the pull out part of my desk, but ontop I have the wireless one with wireless mighty mouse....

It's all about looking cool duuuuuuuuuude

:p:D

thanks for the comments. No wireless keyboard until it has a numpad and I can't find a wireless Bluetooth mouse I like as I'm not keen on the mighty mouse.

I was going to bootcamp xp but now the missus has had a few lessons from me ( bit like the blind leading the blind tbh) she's happy with leopard.

Only thing I miss is utorrent as transmission is so unbalevably slow!

Oh and wireless Internet keeps dropping. Probably as the iMac is ontop of the router so I'm wired for now.

OK change of plan, I'm not so against to the mighty mouse now I've worked out how to make it work like a 2 button mouse!

loving the scroll ball thingy too

sorry for hijacking your thread ca9phoenix but am just wondering with your new imac if you plan on using bootcamp and putting xp/vista on at all, the reason i ask is that i am hopefully getting my imac soon but not sure if i can install the xp/vista on an external hard drive to keep the hd in the imac dedicated for the osx  if that makes sense

Looks like one of those sticky fluff remover things to me.
Its a roller for getting pet hair or lint out of clothes. Ideal for suits etc ;)

Ah, yes, I can see it now... thought it was a loo roll to start with (like Feek) but now you mention it I can see what it is.

to be honest i don't have any plans to bootcamp my system, i'm happy with osx and don't see the need to go back to the devil spawn that is microsoft for my day to day usage!

i'm sure there are others that can help you on here, with a PC i suppose i'm an advanced user..... however with a mac i'm a bit of a noob!

You can. Im sure of it. You can boot from an external HD.

I'm pretty sure you can't. The Windows partition has to reside on the same physical drive as the OS X startup volume.

Windows Firewire and USB drivers are notoriously flaky so it likely won't work properly if you could bodge it into working.

Nope, it doesn't. I was playing with XP and Bootcamp last week and had the Bootcamp partition on a separate drive.
