Origin. Is the program really that evil?

i personally couldn't give two hoots about installing origin as long as it works and doesnt marr my gaming experience. failed on both counts. as usual EA couldn't hold a **** up in a brewery and screwed it up yet again, hell they can't even send out a xmas email with promo codes without it ending up at a dead page.

I hate the use of Origin in BF3.

The EA customer service is pretty terrible too a lot of the time.

The offers are crappy, the client not as user friendly as Steam and it lacks a lot of features.

It's only a necessary evil since I play BF3. There is a workaround now so not sure how much longer I will be an Origin user.

Origin is a pile of crap .... either that or my BF3 key has really been used already! Got a retail box and it won't let me activate .... I wonder when the support will get back to me?

Do you need to install origin to run BF3?

Why have EA gone down this route of having game managers, you still connect up to crappy modded and hacked servers..

Skip

check when live chat closes. battlelog page theres a button half way down on the left side.

i don't understand why Origin is even attempting to compete with Steam. Everyone likes steam, even the game developers love working with it.

Origin has nothing but bad stuff going about it, not to mention the price of the games and recent outrage at it collection private information.

I'm fine with other people using it, i would just like the option to opt out of it. I want to play BF3 but i don't see why i should run Origin.

I won't buy games on it even if they are as cheap as £1, Simple as that.

i've just bought BF3, I wish i knew this prior. I will still play it but will be very weary. In the days of medal of honour and the early call of duty games you never had steam or teh ***** origin and the game was always fine..

WHY have they gone down this route, mistifys me...

Everyone seems to be getting rich of the backs of people just wanting to have fun online.. I used to like EA games not so any more..

I alreasy have steam installed, can I use steam to run BF3?

Please fully star out swear words and read the FAQs regarding rules. Thank you.

I AM ONE that has not installed or played BF3 because of ORIGIN nor will i... soon they will buckle and fold then back to steam i trust steam i dont trust Origin... bought MW3 and SKYRIM on preorder on steam im a happy bunny...

The decent thing to do would had been to offer the product to steam at a slightly higher price than Origin and let the customer decide

I'd rather pay a little extra for the convenience of having my games in one location

Origin is functional, I dislike the EULA, I also dislike the way pretty much every major publisher is looking towards copying EA's move and exploring their own "cloud" options for future releases

I've a strong dislike of EA because I could count off of 2 hands/feet how many of my favourite genres/game series they effectively killed off down the years

I'd love to see their sales figures for "russian" bf3 liceanses they've probably lost millions on that already :D

Ultimatly it is a shame, because I genuinely feel bf3 does deserve to actually do well in terms of sales unlike many recent failed releases this year

How will it fold when Origin is the EA store?

I don't like that I have to install it, but it doesn't bother me as it's pretty invisible once you're in game. I'd buy on Steam if I had the choice.

Ask me when it stops me playing the game, or gets in my face and I may think differently.

Origin Crashes EVERY TIME when chat loads up :(

Set Affinity to 1 core, Origin doesn't Crash

Why Can't I just have battlelog + Game ffs

Everyone likes steam

Well I don't whilst it has some benefits it also has some pretty hefty negatives. Fancy relocating abroad - wonder what will happen to your games then. Hefty presumption they'll work in another region. Origin is even worse at least steam works.
