**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Damn killjoys seem to have disabled offline replay watching. meaning you have to log in to watch replays.

Yes we don't have beta keys but what harm was it doing? There's no NDA and people livestream their games (crappy quality 9/10 which is why watching replays is preferable)

The methadone has been taken away :( It's time to start seeing babies crawling on ceilings (Trainspotting)

edit: Just to confirm the June date, according to Chris Sigaty from episode 13 of the BlizzCast the first installment of the game will be released in the first half of this year:

You haven't asked this question yet, but I'll answer it ahead of time. We were targeting three to five months for the beta, we're really at a three month period of time for the beta at this point. We are still targeting the first half of this year

Isn't it. As a funny aside, the hackers have been overhauling the nerfed AI as well, so those who are playing against the AI using the cracked beta actually have a more rewarding singleplayer experience* than those who are using a legitimate beta key.

*not that anyone in their right mind would be playing SC2 vs the AI if they had any other option

My initial thoughts are that the game is amazing as the previous starcraft was.

The only thing that annoys me atm with it is its too easy to go for cheapo tactics to baserape ur main building. a lot of games I find that many players attempt to go directly for ur main building while just turtling themselves in. Void Rays , Roaches able to move while burrowed etc etc . While this is part of the game I know it should be made a lot harder to do than what it currently is meaning that it would take a lot more tactical play to pull it off meaning more skilled fighting takes place in the middle.

Are there any cracks to play against AI yet?

Yep, ive been playing vs the AI for a few days now, its been stadily improving but really all they can do is improve the default "very easy" AI mode that comes with the demo, it will never really be that much of a challenge.

Just use lazyloader with any "AI map", and make sure to put the base AI file in the mods/liberty folder, i think the latest AI is version 4.

I've been playing with the AI called Starcrack 5.5, definitely makes you learn good macro at the start otherwise you get steamrolled at the first timing attack. Much like you would do in beta against half decent players no doubt. Can't seem to race pick though, just have to restart until you get the race you want to play as, also you have to set the game speed to 'faster' each time you start.

There is a Goose AI that's version 4 though. - Bored SC fans who didn't get into beta are working hard it seems :)

Any advice for defending against an early protoss zealot rush especially if you're terran?

I can rush the enemy and take so many marines out with 1 zealot it's not even funny. And it's the same if I pit my marines against zealots, I constantly have to run and if they have the speed upgrade I have no chance.

Loving playing against AI at the moment as it gives me a chance to learn the game properly.

i noticed a major bug in the unofficial demo i have been beta testing for them. due to having two screens you can not scroll the screen with the mouse on the side of the screen where the other screen is, the mouse just goes off the game and on to the other monitor.

MouseJail locks the mouse to the primary screen, I've used to solve problems with other games that have this bug when I'm gaming on my multi-screen rig.

Edit -

Also another app here if the above doesn't work,
