**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I never was a TA fan. It was something of a holy war in the late 90s between TA fans and SC fans.

I think in a lot of ways TA was superior. But SC had the better DNA. Broodwar basically put some clear water between the two and turned a great game into a truly genre-defining, classic.

TA never really moved on.

some good analysis and I would completely agree

agree, enjoyed TA, but never really held me like BW did :)

In PvT you should use storm a lot it absolutely owns MMM balls! With Zerg i use infestors to weaken Terran. You just have to learn to use the casters properly and it completely changes the outcome of the game most times!

Yeah PvT is much harder than PvZ for me as well. I seem to have the most luck opening with phoenix harass while expanding but it's very hit and miss and if they spot your stargate then you are going to have a really hard time.

Late game (if they dont just do some MM all in which is also hard to stop) then I find it almost impossible to win once they get a critical mass of tanks (6-8).

Phonix isnt that great against terran as they will probably have a lot of marines and if they get turrets you are in real trouble. The key is to scout them properly and see if you need immortals to deal with marauders or to get some collossi for marine balls. Dark templars are always a good option depending on how much scan or turrets the player has. Immortals will own siege tanks though so usually useful if trying to bust a turtling terran!

From what I've seen having just a couple ghosts out can effectively nullify the threat of DTs trying to scout or get into the mineral line. I only found out watching day9's analysis of ghost play that EMP reveals cloaked units. Also EMP + Protoss = Terrible Terrible Damage :D

I'm therefore really surprised that I don't see terrans that i come up against using ghosts more often. Seems like such a sensible option to take vs protoss.

Phoenix are awesome because of the mobility, and if you have ~5 or more then the terran will have to have lots of marines to push you off, at which point you just harass somewhere else.

When they turret up you just move off and use them for map control instead, while switching techs.

Also if you are lucky and the terran is rushing tanks or going for a stim marauder push then you can instantly win the game.

Oh yeah and immortals are basically useless against mass marauders, especially when they have stim. Early game they can be effective though. Collosus + chargelots are much better imo.

Against Terran with a brain Storm is useless. EMP?

from my experience, Pheonix is the best opener vs Terran, although it leave syou open to early agression from Terran. So long as you don't allow them to scout you, Pheonix imo is most safe. Just don't get too greedy with them, and don't suicide them!

RobHu is a very good protoss player, should take advice from him!

Haha if anyone plays TvP with RobHu build a lot of turrets early on we know his plan ;). What would you go in a PvZ phonix definitely suck against them.

depends what Zerg do.. they tend to dictate the game more in PvZ
When i play PvZ i mostly open with a stargate build as well for overlord harass

you wouldn't believe how annoying that kind of harassment is.. adding to that with 2-3 you can take out the queen and a couple of drones.

And if their going for a mutalisk build, instant win.

If their going roaches, just go robo and immortal/zea/sentry push.

Yea i guess so. I have lost some game to pheonix. I think they are the most annoying unit in the whole game! Nothing is more annoying than watching all your units getting picked up and killed and you cant do anything about it! Not seen them used to much though thank god!

PC BanG leaked that the Beta of SC2 will restart the 27 of June exclusively on their Cyber cafés while it will restart for everyone else on the 1st of July. The news comes from PC BanG employees.

My source is: http://www.team-aaa.com/news-16590-0-1-la_beta_reprend_le_premier_juillet.html

It's a French Esport website.

It doesn't seem weird since PC BanG are one of the partners Blizzard announced during their press conference of the 24th of June.
