**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

In the history of Starcraft 2, the only protoss buffs have been a stalker damage increase of 2 and the archon build time lowered by 5 seconds. The rest of the changes have been nerfs.

as a protss player the patch as a whole isnt to bad imogame rushes won't be as effective but 1 more rax and it negates the 5 second difference anyways. The fact that can swarm siege tanks easier now without voids or ambushing them is a massive bonus imo.
 
Dont understand the protoss nerfs really, especially as when ive faced a zerg player the last few days it has been nine times out of ten a 6 pool rush.

I suppose you will absolutely have to go 10 gate to stand a chance perhaps even before you scout to make sure thats whats happening.

p.s. the zerg nerf is hilarious, as most zerg players would love to even get to the ultralisk stage without first being severly under the hammer from any terran build / the protoss 4gate etc..

why nerf the Ultralisk? don't get it...

Terran nerfs are good and well deserved. although BC imo performed fine.

Protoss Nerfs, don't really bother me but i can understand why, it is insanely quick to pump out a zealot, especially with chrono-boost. Much nicer for ZvP anyway.

Protoss can't just pump zealots and win.
 
yaeh but not a fan of overly powerful units such was battlecruisers and ultras before :S doesn't suit the game they needed to be brought down a little bit.
 
So now Toss have NO defense against a 6/7 pool.

Wonderful, I now have to wall off instantly as soon as I see its Zerg regardless of scouting or lose.

Hopefully they will understand this and extend the pool build time or do something else to circumvent the 6/7 pool rush which as it stands now is the most annoying thing in the game.

but seriously, the problem is that blizzard are reading whiny nerf threads on their own forums, where all the whiners are bronze league. They should (imo) read the forums like teamliquid.net and take a look at the proper balance issues with the game.

Not just because silver league terran players are crying they can't wall off before they get 10-gated.

I would rather not have to ruin my early game economy just because my opponent decides he wants to do the same, but I know what you mean :p

I don't even think 10 gate will work, the calculations done on team liquid say that the zerglings will have 20 seconds before your first zealot pops out :o
 
Man the zealot delay is not cool. During the brief time the phase 2 patch was out with these zealot nerfs it was pretty cheese tastic from zergies.

I think a 10 gate v zerg is going to become the norm.

I don't know how people manage to win with a 6/7 Pool, it messes up your economy and its soo easily stopped with probe micro, and then jsut wait for your zealot to pop out.
 
Ok so we just saw Nony roll a zerg 2-0 without even trying. I think I'm going to copy his build when I next play. Seemed solid agaisnt zerg. 5-6 zealots and 3-4 sentries if you see a fast expand then expand while pushing out. Or if you scout a roach warren, hold off your push for a bit longer and make 5-6 stalkers, still expanding while pushing out.
 
Do siege tanks in siege mode harm my units too? I had mass marine + tanks in siege mode against stalkers I thought I was going to win but somehow the marines got taken out in seconds, is that because my tanks were shooting at zealots that were attacking my marines so that marines were taking splash damage from tanks?

yes, you do damage ur units with siege
