Here's the replay of my first gold league match which was a loss unsurprisingly!

I'm getting better at keeping on top of just spending money, but I'm thinking my push at the start could have been better timed and I could have thought about my unit/tech selection a bit more. Any thoughts anyone who fancies watching a gold league player out of their league? :D

I'm no expert, but for me the major mistake was when you pushed out to try and save your expo. What I would have done was to let it fall, and then use your sentry to forcefield the ramp when half of his marines / marauders were up it. That would have split their army in two and you could have dealt with it more easily.

But that's just me, I'm sure one of the experienced guys will have another opinion! :)

Also, anyone got any tips for the last sodding level? I get absolutely slaughtered towards the end and can't defend long enough at all. If I try putting the base defence further out and move of it etc, I stretch too thinly and get heavily owned via flanking on the weak side -.-
 
Yay just won another game. Harassing works even if its only a couple of marines + marauders :o Keeping up macro during that is tough but pays off when you come out with a much bigger army!
 
yeah harrasing is defianlty most fun part of game for me shame my macro lets me down late game vs diamond / good players

Thanks for watching Worthy. Your comment reminded me about trying to use force fields more. I think that greatly helped me winning my first gold league game just now. :D Most of my losses so far haven't been that bad, but I have been playing more favoured opponents than me mostly. Anyway it's a good way to improve to play people slightly better than you, so I'm all for it if I win every now and again still. :)
 
I've found the perfect way to win 2v2. Team up with kar, make a cuppa, put your feet up and watch the wins roll in. :D

I think for a while I was trying to hold ground with the highest level things I could pump out, thors etc. Didn't end well :P

I found that you could also bring out a few banshees to take out the nydus worms, really helps take off the pressure, especially if you forget to build marines and get half a wall of tanks destroyed by Kerrigan :P

"Thor is here" as long as you hear that line often while playing zerg you're going to be fine.

I had a problem with the zerg when I moved to plat now I do lame but sure tactic.

FE and mass marines + mass thors and pump up those thors with upgrades, I usually move out with 2nd wpn and 2nd armor upgrade with around 8 thors and some marines for meat shield

Works every time as lame as it is
