"Thor is here" as long as you hear that line often while playing zerg you're going to be fine.

I had a problem with the zerg when I moved to plat now I do lame but sure tactic.

FE and mass marines + mass thors and pump up those thors with upgrades, I usually move out with 2nd wpn and 2nd armor upgrade with around 8 thors and some marines for meat shield

Works every time as lame as it is
yeh i didnt realise until i checked the stats that thor overpowered mutas, wish id figured that out earlier as i was building vikings, bc's in response.
oh welll....

I finally had a good day, played 12 games won 10 :),I might get a promotion soon but I am not quite sure if I will be able to handle Platinum at the moment.

get morally prepared for rushes. If you don't scout your base don't be surprised that you're being proxy gate rushed...no pressure mate ;)

Is it just me, or are infestors absolutely amazing? Most long zvp game I've played the protoss tend to go with a stalker/colossi/zealot mix. I've taken to hiding any idea that I have infestors, spam hydras and then when the fight starts just take control of most of their colossi with about 5-10 infestors. Spare infestors can then be used for fungal growth/infested terran fodder. I used to counter with corrupters, but I found the stalkers were often in high enough numbers to rape them whilst the colossi obliterate the hydras.

I'm only in silver league at the moment so I suspect this won't work against better players (I'd be interested in hearing the counters high league protoss players would use actually), but hey I like it. Sometimes it works well with terrans and controlling thors but that seems to be more tricky given their increased range.

I love infestors when I can get them out :) Burrow + fungal growth on drones is absolutely savage. You can take out the enemies entire production in one swoop. Not to be underestimated if you can pull it off :)

I also like burrowing lings at enemy expansions. Cheap but it works :)

Every protoss gets a scouting drone so he will be ready for your infesters, moreover he will be able to see where they are borrowed and kill them off.

Oh right. Yeah they're a bloody nuisance. I sometimes upgrade an overlord if I'm worried about that from protoss. Relatively cheap and don't require tech :)

That's true that there is a chance an observer will see the infestation pit, but there are plenty of ways to reduce the possibility of that. For one I never put it in my main and I dump it in places where I think it is less likely an observer could see it before getting destroyed.

I don't understand what you mean about burrowing them. I'd never keep infestors by themselves and once the stalkers/colossi etc are fighting the hydras my infestors are definitely unburrowed.

I'm not saying it's a perfect tactic, I'm sure it's not and it is reliant on the other player not reacting quickly to them. Still, I'm finding it to be really successful in silver :)

I never even thought about fungal growth on drones, fantastic idea if you can manage to do it without getting detected :).

Yeah it is a grate tactic on the other hand, I was just pointing out things to look out for, just in case :)

Great games tonight with my 2v2 partner. Played 8 won 7, the one we lost was when we played a Z/Z team and they ling rushed us really quickly.

13th in bronze now, with another win that will be 6th ish from looking at the points. It really came together tonight thanks mostly to kar and his awesome tips today. Cheers bud :)

I've lost all but one of my gold league matches and I'm now learning about rush tactics all of a sudden. :o I think I need to start looking at some proper tactics and build orders all of a sudden!
