nooooooooooooooo CellaWerra got knocked out of the GSL :(:(:(

I love that guy. He has the best stream ever. He's really good too, sucks he got knocked out by a terran. :(

i spam click for the first 30 seconds - 1 minute to warm my hands up, does help me, but again its all personal preference.

I see some people just clicking enough buttons to get by, but then save the rest of it for when their actually microing, and good lord they are insane

thats exactly what it is. ^^

some people will have a high one but be useless, some will have low but awesome players, and you get the gem thats high and an awesome player. haha good comparison though, hate that gear score thing!
 
Hey everyone, thought with the OCUK tournament coming up I'd stop lurking in this thread after 6000 odd posts!

Anyway, if anyone would like to add me for some games, 1 v 1, 2 v 2 or whatever, I'm Houd.561, I'm a mid-plat Zerg player. It'd be nice to get a bit more social while playing as it's such a good game I can see myself playing it for a while.

As for APM, it's interesting watching my own replays, especially in the first couple of minutes, where for considerable periods my current APM is a massive 0, and my opponent's is in the low 200s! I find it a bit silly to be honest, though I hear that some of the best players recommend spamming just to keep your fingers warmed up or something!
 
Im in diamond,which I feel I don't deserve I should be in because all my opponents have amps in 200's and mine is measly 55.

I can't imagine clicking more than I do right now and they click 4x more thats insane.

One of my friends got diamond placement after his 5 ranked games... He has lost every game in diamond so far and has stopped playing 1v1 lol.

I thought it is impossible to get into diamond through placement?

But when I got into it there was a huge serge in "skill" and dirtiness

Not sure mate, unless he placed high plat and won his plat games (5 placement then 5 ranked wins?)

I started in bronze now I'm gold 30 and the skill level is a huge increase but I won't lie I feel I fit in at gold. Won 6 or 7 games last night and lost 2-3 so I think I'm in the right place at the moment. APM can go up to 50-100 when getting busy with lots of buildings and units.

how many games you play to get out of bronze? what was you w/l ratio??

Off the top of my head no idea mate lol.

I'm currently at between 27-29 wins 21-23 losses.

I was doing terrible in bronze had about 2 wins 5 losses then stopped playing it. I then got to about 15 wins/15 losses then just won 5 games in a row I think and then got promoted straight from bronze to gold. Think 4 out of the 5 people were gold and maybe 1 was plat.

Try this build out. you'll want to get used to this kind of opening once you move up the leagues. as thats what most of the other Terrans will be doing.

won approx 9/11 TvT's with this build.
one loss was due to me not macroing properly, the other was a 3 rax pure marauder build, which appears to be quite effective against this build. If he does go 3 rax marauder, take out a couple vikings and add more MM. keep the tanks.
failing that, go mass Banshee/Marine.

this build also allows you to expand fairly early :)

when i played him this guy was rank 1 in diamond, dunno where he is now.

Indie, I watched that replay and oh my, just played against terran and that build worked flawlessly, thank you so much, I guess I don't have to dread TvT anymore

Just ignore APM, play your game, it means bugger all really, its a bit like achievs. all epeen! non of the good players really care about it.
and if your in Diamond then you must have deserved to be there, so keep playing ^^

Glad it helped :) :)

the idea is the viking gives your tank a tiny extra bit of range (through vision), so you can take out their tanks.

If they slack on vikings, you can land them ontop of their tanks, force them to unseige and then jsut walk in with your forces :)

Just make sure you keep pumping all 3 unit types, Marines/Tanks/Vikings.
I don't know how my macro was that game, but should alwasy be building.
I do a ratio of every 1 tank should have 2 vikings and a small pack of marines.. 4-6 ?
Key thing, always scout ahead with your vikings before you move your forces. use scans too :) Mules don't really effect TvT much as everything is gas intensive.

I liked the PRIME game yesterday where TankBoyPRIME won when he was the underdog.

There will be a list of restreams on the right in the TL calendar. Really, TL is the only place you need to go to find anything Starcraft related. The calendar system is perfect for finding out about upcoming events, and the user stream sections lists basically every SC stream in existence.
