Well said avec.. But if only Blizzard would actually take note from this rather than listening to people shouting nerf this and nerf that.

Reapers and hellions are pretty much non-existent in competitive play, it's a shame to see SC2 so dumbed-down when compared to BroodWar.

Anyways, Dreamhack in 3 days! Can't wait, some sick names on the player-list including PuMa, Clide, NaNiwa, SaSe, HerO, DRG, MC and WhiteRa!

Hellions are used in the majority of tvz games...

And to the guy above talking about how aggressive zerg builds are labelled cheese/all in, it's because early zerg aggression is generally skirting around the edge of being all in. Thats just how zerg works.

Erm..yea but you still see hellions in competitive play all the time, and reapers are being used :confused: not sure quite what you're getting at..

Why the bias?

Leenock did one cheesy build with the really early pool, but that wasn't even cheesy really. He used it to apply a bit of early pressure to a guy who takes liberties with early expanding. He'd seen better players than him get slaughtered by the expand strategy Naniwa was using when they played conventional Zerg style, so he changed it up.

Zerg are allowed to have some aggressive builds too, not just Terran or Protoss.

The cheesiest thing done all tournament was the Cannon Rush by Naniwa on NesTea, but people weren't saying that was cheese were they, they were just praising him for it.

Leenock outplayed Naniwa and deserved to win.

Astaeri, Hellions are used frequently in TvZ. If you watch MVP (the best Terran in the world in most peoples opinions), he often uses Blue Flame Hellions against Zerg as he does a whole bunch of Mech play.

You can watch him do this against Leenock when he played against him yesterday.

The fact that Blue Flame is still highly effective even after the nerf, should show you just how silly strong it used to be.

Hah that was perhaps my favorite match of the tournament when Mvp roasted 5000 drones but Leenok didn't seem to care. Then that battle later with the transfusions on the broodlords :D epic stuff.
 
It's the fact that they nerfed the hellion based on a new strategy that SlayerS brought to MLG. Back in the days of Broodwar, you had to figure out an actual way to counter the build.

That's all I'm trying to say. :<
 
Stop talking through your bum, a unit is not balanced if it becomes apparent that its cost-effectiveness ratio is through the roof regardless of the opponents strategy...
Yes it took a while for someone to try it but when they did every and their dog could understand that it was massively op and needed the nerf.

It didn't make them useless it just brought them back in line, they are still massively used in competitive play so please watch some mlg, gsl before you say something even more stupid

I wish MLG had a better on demand system, I just spent 10 minutes trying to find the videos for MLG Providence.

I really suck at SC2, but had some great wins recently.

I can't play Terran to save my life. Even when i just build marines and medivacs like everybody else i get slammed.

In top 20 on bronze league, so most opponents are teh suck like me anyway.

Finally, just got onto the second video of Boxer Vs NesT, they seem to have mixed the high quality and low quality streams up!

For the actual MLG event i can't remember if they were mixed, missed most of saturday due to being out, but towards the finals it was Tastless/Artsosis together. Then DJWheat/JPMcDaniels/Husky iirc.

No day9 as he was the best man at a wedding.
 
Ok, I've just had to tidy up a few posts above because of constant trolling. If you spot trolling or bad posts then ignore them and report it directly to a moderator or use the RTM system. Don't respond or reply to them otherwise they get just the reaction they are looking for and you'll end up in just as much trouble.

Please keep to the thread topic.
