Hi there,

I have just come to run orthos to compare new temperatures in my new modded case, and orthos errors when I try to stress it under the blend mode in Orthos. This is not a new overclock so I don't understand why it occurs, does anyone have any idea what it means?

Overclocks can fail over time, also - how do you know your "not a new overclock" was actually stable to begin with? Did you run ORTHOS, etc first time around?

I would imagine that it would fail. You are running a dual core cpu and testing using Sp2004. SP2004 should be used with single core cpu's. Download Orthos beta by johnny lee, it is coded for dual core cpu's.

OK cheers buddy, what I'll do is have a mess about with this tomorrow morning I'm far too tired its time for bed I think. I'll let you know what happens tomorrow :)

To re-do an overclock is it best to clear CMOS first?

I would. A new clock is always worth a new start from scratch. Don't forget, cpu max first then your memory max.

Ok, I have cleared CMOS and I went into BIOS to disable certain features in the "CPU Feature" section so that I could begin overclocking, when I save and reboot the system just hangs and the monitor light just flashes green I get nothing onscreen. I have to clear CMOS again. I have tried it quite a few times and the same thing happens. I'm running on default settings at the moment. EDIT: Just checked and my CPU is running at 1500MHz?? (E6600).

Can anyone assist me please?

I'm not sure on your m/b, but, memory to 2.2 and cpu to 1.35 is a good starting point. Instead of 1500 set to 1300 and increase each time you get into bios. Check the multi is on 9.

Ok as I mentioned, I can't even alter the CPU features to enable an overclock or anything. Each time I try to set something in the BIOS and save it comes up with 2 A (which isn't in the manual) on the LED POST indicator and the monitor light just flashes and the system hangs with black screen and fans spinning.
