cheers, downloading now, on software update it says its over £100 meg though.

100 quid for an update? that doesn't sound right  :p

I guess if you aren't fully up to date it adds in other updates along with it, or your using a PowerPC processor and are using that version.

was downloading the update then i suddenly got a greyish screen telling me to restart, once i had restarted it told me to send an error report to apple.
does it happen with mac osx updates? how do i find out what version im currently running?

Thanks.

p.s: lol £100, forgive me.

Just done. Took a few tries of Software update for it to find it however. Update was 63.9Mb for me from 10.4.6 on an MBP.

Man,

Apple have come up trumps!

This update has already solved 2 issues I had. One being when I use automator to mount a shared drive, i used to get an error even tho the drive mounted. This no longer happens!

AND the main one, Firefox on my MBP rendered fonts really badly, smoothing them too much. This update has fixed it so that it renders the fonts the same way Safari does!

So happy :)

Yeah i've noticed a .Mac improvement since upgrading :), my iDisk used to take a while to disappear after I dragged it to the trash can, now it goes away instantly :)

I'll fetch it down once the initial rush has died down - and when I've finished the current Folding@home competiton which still requires Boot Camp and means reboots = bad. :D

Has anyone elses "about this mac" gone like this :

Fine here but I am using a proper processor. ;) :D

This update has killed the Pith Helmet plug in for Safari and it took a bit of cleaning up. I guess I will have to be exposed to adverts unil it is sorted. :(

Very, it runs really quickly - it's the best thing I did..

I leave a lot of apps open all the time, so I can open them instantly.

It appears this update has FINALLY fixed the 'insufficient bandwidth' junk when trying to use iChat AV (as cyk and Beepcake will testify :p)

Found this on Version Track:
"In /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins. Control-click on PithHelmet.bundle and and Show Package Contents. Open the info.plist file. Find MaxBundleVersion and change it to 420. It's worked in the past and seems to work now, but YYMV!
Let me know if it works for you.
I can't actually install Pith Helmet due to the update. I've been looking into it this morning since I saw your post this morning though. Looks good, hopefully there will be an official update soon.

I ended up having to delete Pith Helmet, I found the remnants of it it lurking in that folder; I just deleted it and repaired permissions and everything works fine. I was surprised there was no application folder for it which would have made unistallation simpler.
