Strike action started after members rejected an eight per cent pay offer from global waste company Suez, which Unite called a significant real-term pay cut when looking at the firm’s annual profits, which were £80.8m in 2021 after inflation. The company’s South Gloucestershire bin loaders earn £11.53 per hour.

They rejected £12.45 per hour.

The way ours chuck our bins around they always seem in a bad mood. Funny thing is it’s more effort to throw the bins on the floor as they do.

^^ it's not restricted to binmen...doing things the hard way, make as much noise as possible, create problems that weren't there to start with etc etc...standard behaviour from lots of people

News update, bin men still on strike, council supposedly collecting black bin only from now on, recycling is no longer required, oh dear never mind.

They keep saying the bin men are on strike until September, what’s that all about don’t they have bills to pay?

Mine quite often leave rubbish in the road which falls out of the bins, but they CBA to clear up.

I take mine myself more than use the collection these days, big dumpy bag of garden waste and all my bags (bins are.not allowed in my area.anyway)
It's on the way to tintagel so an excuse for a walk
