** OUR SECOND 8 PACK APPROVED OC BUNDLE: OVERCLOCKED, DISCOUNTED, ELITE TIER VERY FAST!! **

So its obviously a voltage not being applied at full Bios reset. Maybe slight Vdroop on the Vdimm. I mean do a multimeter test if you wish to waste even more of your own time instead of simply using the pc and having fun!!

XMP means it runs at 3000mhz so who cares about 2133 really its simply nothing to worry about at all.

yeah man im just going to get back to some gaming i would have liked to got to the bottom of why its not booting at stock but i think ive teared my hair out enough lol.

thanks for all your help first class as always now for monday to roll on to i get the new rog swift i ordered from yous and finally get to play rise of the tomb raider:D

Glad you got it working enjoy tomb raider excellent game

All good here 8pack, new motherboard is awesome, not even a hiccup, left it @ 4.375 for now, will OC it some in the next few weeks, not really gamed much since it was built, time to catch up on a little late night gaming :)

I thought I better post back now I have spent a little more time on my OC

I couldn't get the level-1 OC stable ,even after tweaking ring and SA voltage.

Thought I would give a bit more Vcore a try so upped it to 1.25v
Seemed pretty stable at 4.125 (didn't test for long but felt ok)

Tried 4.25 at 1.25v and it also seemed ok.

Now I'm stability testing at 4.375 and 1.28v (level 3 overclock) and it seems pretty good.

The AIO cooler isnt the best so temps are a little high (72c max) but I'm still running the fans fairly low.
I will eventually get this into my new case with custom loop but ill be happy if 4.375gig is stable and ill shoot for more once I'm comfortable with more voltage.

Thanks for posting 8Pack, I would have figured this out in the end but having your settings took most of the guess work out of overclocking.
There was a time (socketA) when I knew what everything did but I just dont have the time or inclination to learn absolutely everything about these much more complex and tunable modern systems.

72 C is not high man 95 is high!!

Glade its running well.

Thanks.

I did try for 4.5gig, booted windows but failed x264 very fast.
Tried 1.3v and it lasted a minute or so of x264, so better but not stable.

Temps went up to 70 pretty quickly.

Do you think I would stand a better chance at 4.5 with lower temperatures or do I just need more voltage?

I'm reluctant to use more than 1.3 with these temps.
Especially as I don't exactly need those extra mhz to play fallout 4.

I wouldn't bother, my chips terrible too, well, terrible for what I was "expecting", it will do 4.375 @ 1.26 VC, but it wont do 4.5 even @ 1.35, so take what you can I guess.

Same here can't get 4.5 :( luck of the draw just my 2600k was a great overclocker and all my graphics cards to apart from my new 980ti I guess my luck has run out on getting good chips

I'm not disappointed by 4.37gig

Still almost a 33% overclock.

This X99 platform seems to need quite a bit of tuning to get everything set correctly and there are a lot of options.

I'm pretty sure I can get 4.5 stable I just need to spend more time, and possibly improve my cooling a bit.

What were you guys expecting to achieve?

Do you think lower temps will help or is temperature less important than on other chips
(I've generally had AMD in the past and lower temperatures helped with overclocking.)

I hoped I would get at least 4.4, which I have just about.
4.7 "stable" seems pretty rare for a 5820k and the real performance difference isnt going to be much with my usage.

Were I benching then I would have bought differently but I don't hhav time or ££ for that any more.
Sold my promethia years ago.

The bundle is aimed at 4.125 overclock so you guys getting 4375 are doing ok for sure. Try also pushing cache if you wish this will help you with more speed if you reached the cores limit.

Around 3.9-4g cache should be possible on this OC Socket board.

Well, after more playing around, I really thing I'm beginning to hate this PC ......

Project Cars will Crash and Reboot the PC, upon restarting I only have one Graphics Card, further restarts don't fix the problem, I need to shut PC off and then turn it back on to get the second 980ti to show up, beyond frustrated with this now.

Temps :

Card 1 : 61
Card 2 : 58
CPU : 60
and thats about as hot as it will ever get under gaming, thing is, Realbench/Firestrike don't crash the PC, just that one ****ing game I want to play ......

Well if you really hate it, I can swap for a nice stable 4670k setup which plays project cars fine, I'm local :) lol :D
Do you know what crashing it? Are you running the latest BIOS? Maybe back off your overclocks a bit or try stock to try and get it stable.
What PSU have you got?

It must be just Pcars, and thats just me blowing off steam, not fair to blame the setup 980ti's are both normally clocked @ 1450 : 7850, but have throtled them right back, I've tweaked a few more voltages too see if it stops it, will give it another go later, I ws 35 mins into a 2hr race and off it went, /rageing lol

PSU is a HX1200i, and yes to the latest bios, If it drops again, I'll go stock and check from that.
