OUt of the loop, need a dx11 card

Hi, as per title I want a dx11 card to play tropic 5, don't want to spend a fortune as I only have a Q6600 and an NVidia GTX285, what would be an equivalent/slightly better card?

I game at 1080.

My better half is using an AMD 7850OC, coupled with Asrock DUAL sata II; Opteron 165; 4GB DDR1. It plays Tropico 5 fine at 1080p, apparently.

Check out the recent promo, http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18606592 , you might want to take a punt at that £120 R9 270 or £130 for the R9 270X, all depends on your budget.

As you have an older CPU, I would go with something like a 750Ti

All you need is a DirectX 11 card, i.e. minimum reqs:

- Nvidia GeForce 400 series or higher
- AMD Radeon HD 4000 series or higher
- Intel HD 4000 series or higher

You could spend £25-50 in the MM and get a mid-range GTX 4xx or 5xx and get good results I'd have thought.

Something like a 460 would be about as fast as your current card.

Cheers for the replies, luckily a friend has loaned a DX11 card to me, its not as good as my card but should play tropico5 with ease, what a faf for one game!

Not that is matters now, but the AMD Radeon HD 4000 series was DX10.
The AMD Radeon HD 5000 series or higher if you want DX11.
