Out With The Old?.. In With The New?

When you try to power on with the CPU 8-pin plugged in, what happens? Do fans and light come on briefly, then turn off? Or does nothing happen?

As Ryu said, try starting up with the bare minimum - CPU, stock cooler, and a stick of RAM (no GPU). Try the RAM in different slots, and do the same with the other stick.

Hiya Fulax :) ... Happy weekend :)

Ok ... when i try with the 8 pin in .... I turn on the PSU at the back and the mobo lights illuminate ...Then when i switch on from the front of the case ...It just makes like a plink noise from the PSU....If try again without the 8 pin plugged in it fires up the mobo .... Lights come on on the ram ( remember they have daft red leds ) ... The CPU cooler lights up .... Fan on the back of the case fires up and the two fans on the radiator at the top fire up .... The fans on the vid card fire up .... But not the fans on the front of the case ....But i have plugged into the monitor with everything seeming to be running ( apart from the case fans at the front ) and i get no signal from ether the vid card or onboard slots

Hope thats a little more clear :)

Gonna try the strip down .... I will be back .... If your busy later please can you look in when you get time :)

Thanks :)

PS ... I'm Taking all this in my stride....I know it will work sooner or later :)

It's all a learning curve, it's actually good to have start up issues believe it or not, it gives you that little bit of experience trouble shooting and being confident playing around with the components. It maybe time consuming, an inconvenience and play on your anxiety levels but it will stand you in good stead if any problems arise in the future!

IT'S ALIIIVE !

What about reusing that case?

lolz ahah :)...Nice...Made me laugh and i needed one :)

Ok ... Just a quick update

Had to pull the plug last night to go to work .... Got a chance today to get a bit more involved .... Last night did an out of the case set up ... Still the same :(

This morning i pulled all the plugs and started from scratch .... This time i just used a 4 pin plug and no 8 pin.... Powered up and off it went ... Everything come on as it should ... Entered bios and set up the ram .... Right now im putting windows on and all seems good :)

Windows is up and running .... Just need to add drivers .... Looks like it's all sorted for now :)

Thanks for your help Guy's :)

See you on the battlefield :)

Peace

Just Wanted to thank you guys again for all your help :)

Had a busy workload over the weekend and today... So not had the time to really enjoy my new machine yet .... But i just sat down and have started the process of making myself at home with windows 8 .... My box looks and sounds pretty sweet :)

I will stick around the forum over the coming week's ...Month...Who knows maybe years :)

See you guys around :)
