It's probably worth heading over to outlook.com and grabbing a "@outlook.com" mail address whilst you can. If you only get hotmail.co.uk options when signing up a new account try using a IE inprivate browsing mode or chrome incognito mode window to sign up.

I know there will gmail users who will rant about hotmail and it sucks etc without giving it a chance but personally I quite like it :)

It's worth grabbing one if you fancy a Microsoft account to sign into Windows 8 with but don't necessarily want to use your current Live account.
 
looks really good. you can setup alias email accounts also which is pretty good.

Skype integration is coming also. Think i might try this out for a few weeks.
 
Great thing is, at the moment, it doesn't add a stupid signature onto the bottom like other free email accounts.

Definitely worth a look - very nice and clean.

That's one of the main reasons I've made an account, good account name and I can use that for Windows 8! We'll see though, it could work out nicely and I missed the gmail bandwagon by a long way :D
 
Thanks for the heads up. Got my @hotmail changed to @outlook

Can't seem to configure it on my phone though. Keep getting told user name or password is wrong.
 
It's a shame that at the minute it's not possible to change your current email address to @outlook.com.
The only available options remain as @hotmail.com and @live.com.

Popped up when I first logged in asking if I want to change.
 
Great, I managed to do it, snapped myself up an original.

If you don't get the option to change your @hotmail or @live to @outlook then click on the "Get to know what's new in Outlook" email and click on "Get new ID".
All your emails from Hotmail or Live will go to the new Outlook address, but you will not be able to login to your old one after this and you should update all websites which use your old one.

Great that you can also have rules on there to move mail from people to specific folders. Liking it more the more I find out about it.

Nice, though I could not bag my first name @outlook, though have bagged first name last name, plus my hotmail name (first name then underscore) @ outlook.

Just had 6 texts from MS about it. :eek:

Got 9 webmail addresses in total now.
