Outriders

I decided to buy this last night and enjoying it so far. First class is the techno and just trying to get used to the controls as all I used to play was the division 2 lol.

Just finished the volcano spider

I am really enjoying it - the more you get into it and tinkering with your build the better it gets. I finished the main story last night. I watched a video before I got the game and they suggested not doing the side missions until you had finished the main quest as the rewards you get for each side mission are based on your current level. It makes more sense to get the rewards when you are closer to the level cap. So straight after finishing the story I went back and did a side mission and was really suprised - it was actually a really good mission with several elements. I also got a legendary sniper rifle from it. Looking forward to working my way through more of these side missions as well as the Hunt, Wanted and Historian missions before I attempt the expeditions.

I think I will also start with another character - I have all of them at around level 5 at the moment from trying them in the demo.

- The cover system isn't too bad once used to it. Just takes some adjustment. The only being the moving around corners being dynamic would be much better
- Tbh haven't noticed this even after 50 hours or so in game
- Yeah this odd but you kinda get used to most the locations you can, but yes having it more consistent would be good
- indeed the whole thing for that and the minimap and the main map need a rework to show proper zoomed in location and local marker
- Not sure what you mean by tracking questions?
- I am not sure I agree with you on that one. Me and friends are basically going anomaly with shooting secondary whilst cooldowns happen
- Don't agree, this actually seems fine to me. It has a cooldown element because it uses your anomaly powers during the melee
- Daily quests?
Tracking quests its meant to say (auto correct on my phone...). When looking for the wanted posters or bones for hunts or the historian missions you can't really track them until you have interacted with them even though they do show an exclamation mark once you get closer to them.
I am playing anomaly because using the bullets skill is just boring (unless devastator as its completly dofferent to the other classes) but from looking at all the builds getting suggested it is about 5-1 in favour of bullets skill to other anomaly powers.
The melee skill, I just cant get used to it. Your character use doesn't use the same hand to do it and it looks like you have missed when your target actually takes the hit. Plus it's not the easiest button to press on an xbox controller for such a useful skill.
They are not really daily quests but they are so long I only do them once per day. The hunts, wanted and historian missions can be reset and repeated constantly. Giving rewards for whatever world tier you do the final missions on. And when completing them all you get a legendary reward for each type of mission.

Don't get me wrong I am enjoying it and it is the only thing I am playing right. I've just had an accident and snapped my achilles so I'm literally sat at my pc playing this game all day lol. Aliens fireteam is coming out soon aswell and that looks really similar but I'm looking forward to that aswell.

Given up on putting in daily refund requests so unless they turn around and offer no questions asked ones I'm just uninstalling the game and shifting it to my buyer's remorse tag on steam

I've watched many streams for many hours from low levels to the highest of end games with OP builds. I cannot say it is enticing me to buy it. It looks more like a grind simulator than it is of a loot shooter with added fun.

Go here kill a horde, claim rewards. Rinse and repeat. It looks so dull with no massive open areas. It's all funnel fighting.

The biggest complaint so many say is they hate grouping up with people because they say they suffer very laggy input in their gameplay. Then of course, as long as you don't crossplay, you wont lose your inventory.

Unfortunately not the case. All it takes is a server disconnect in the middle of a save and you're wiped

Sorry why you giving up?

Game's a mess and PCF's handling of it, while open, has been poor. I've also been rejected for days straight so I'd rather leave it and see if they offer no questions asked refunds. That or just forget about it

I can't comment on multiplayer as I havent even tried it, but from a single player I would say that "loot shooter with added fun" is exactly what it is. I have to admit on the face of it sounds pretty dull, but I find the gameplay a lot of fun and challenging. I dont know if it is the weapons, skills, different enemies or the challenge - or all of it, but I cant remember ever having this much enjoyment out of a single player shooter.

There are also quite a few open areas - you are also not locked into one area while you fight. The game does allow you to fall back to previous areas (as long as it's not too close to your camp) to draw out the hordes.

I really hope in the next update they add a better minimap (showing surrounding walls so you know where you are in the area) and a player position on the main map. I get so annoyed trying to figure out where I am and where I'm going all the time.

Yeah I play with anomaly because don't want to go down bullet skill or anything. But the volcanic rounds are meh for my build and much better with F.A.S.E.R beam. The melee skill, I don't know. I find it really easy to use, just click the left stick in and it hits because it is an anomaly power with a radius hit and not just a straight up punch. It also gets you out of Freeze for instance if you need.

Ah okay, you just meant the side quests, in terms of them and you wanting to cheese I guess that down to the player. I have honestly not worried about it and just done it properly. No problem with the whole legendary. They are not really designed for after finishing the story and really were to help go through the story at least in my view. Once the story done there very little reason to go back in my view and to just move to the expeditions then. You also can't change the tier level whilst doing an expedition so no ability to randomly complete.

Hmm fair enough. I mean I don't really agree so guess it just comes down to preferences. Yeah the inventory wipe is a pita if you get that but otherwise it is pretty solid overall. The nagging things discussed in this thread are not make or break or a mess, they just need some attention. Mostly the minimap setup although once you have done story that isn't a concern.

What I do generally find is that the actual fights are engaging generally and the AI isn't too bad with it wanting to try and flank you and use abilities pretty effectively making it fun. It seems to generally strike a decent balance of pushing the player without it just being grind away to get loot. Although the zones are small they make for the arena type styled play rather than roaming plains. All depends what you looking for. Tbh though it sounds more like it just isn't your sort of game than anything with your reply. I don't see a need for them to be offering refunds in my view. It has had a bad week with issues but they communicated and then are offering things as apology to the player base.

If it was just the bugs, crashes and inventory wipe then it would be worth just waiting a few weeks for a patch or two and then but I don't really think that will change anything and if you've got 6+ hours in the game then you could have completed the story in that time tbh so asking for a refund at that point seems like you've played the game and then don't want it. It isn't hard to have known if you like the concept of the game within 2 hours especially as there was a free demo to try before hand.

"We have just released a new patch that addresses the bug that has been causing the inventories of certain players to be wiped."

Patch is out.

90 odd hours in the main game here and I'm still loving it. I've not crashed in single player in ages but I've not been playing coop due to the inv problem. But it's a relatively small number that have been wiped to my understanding. And the gear will be restored.

Still using the 'wrong' set items as I can't get the chest or helm to drop but have unlocked CT15 and grinding CT14.

There's been a lot of optimisation and trial and error with my gear and mods. It's been very Diablo like. Which has been great.

While it could be more optimised for fps I have it locked around 120 fps currently and don't notice any stuttering. Have discovered a few items that don't work the way they were intended but these are tiny issues. They've almost fixed the inventory wipe issue and then if they can get coop to be a bit more stable it would be amazing. This is hard when they're using peer to peer and not a central server though.

The inventory wipe happens when you load into the world. If your character appears and you see no gear equipped, alt-f4 the game asap. This will probably stop the wipe from happening if you're fast enough.

I'd agree I don't see a need for them to offer special refunds. I'm also not sure what Frubeling expected from them if you consider their handling of the situation poor.

Nice. At least they've been prompt with it. They put Massive to shame with their determined bug fixes.

Has anyone had the patch yet on steam? Played last night and had no updates but unsure if it downloaded it and I missed it.

Yes, it downloaded and installed for me late afternoon. Download was 2.2GB, if you bring up the game properties and look at the updates tab does it show as being updated recently, in game version shows as 1.02.00?
