They can look 'ok' though I'm in agreement they are best off not on show...depends how you mount them though...

As for filling and bleeding, when using a single D5, easiest method was to have it ports up, fill it complete with QDC's then connect it up to a ready bled loop and push out the last few drops of air. With dual D5's, just fill up the res and let all that pressure do the work for you

WTF!? You do realise you have a pump that does that for you right?
My 1260 is the easiest rad to bleed I've ever had, being external on its own means you are rocking a couple of kilos instead of the 10+ of a fulk system

I unscrew mines from the stands, and tilt it and voila. Hardly difficult lol.

Bleeding the rest of the system tho is a bit trickier as need to tilt it every which way and it isn't the lightest.

Going to have to do that all soon, as adding another rad (inside case this time) as well as a 2nd 7970 in to the loop. Not really looking forward to the work involved... or the fear of leaks and having to strip down and start again!

everything you mention is easily overcome with a small amount of forethought

I have my case and rad in an L shape behind one of my monitors, so it only takes up real estate that would be going unused anyway
QDC's are easy if you need it to be portable - running a large external rad actually makes my system MORE portable because my case is smaller and the bulk weight of the cooling system is seperate making it easier to carry
can also be cleaned easier
200mm fans make no noise
why? my rad is on my desk on it's own stand, there's no way for a dog or cat to get anywhere near it
temperature difference is relative - I have 900w of components under water which would need several expensive radiators and probably expensive fans to keep cool if I tryed to contain it in a case
coolant costs £2-3 per litre unless you buy silly flavoured stuff - if you use coloured tubing then you don't need to buy expensive coolant
I really don't see how a large rad has any greater chance of leaking than a normal one?

That is going to end badly - you will get condensation inside the case and that is just going to cause problems...

there are ways of mitigating that as a potential problem
good airflow in the case and a fan controller that turns off any rad fans when the water temp is a few degrees below ambient for a start - system start up would be your highest risk period so as long as you kept an eye out for any condensation forming you should be alright

not something I could be bothered with though

To the above -

system take up more room - really by how much?

pretty much non-portable - l can move my case anywhere with ease, using a bigger rad l would use quick release valve's no problems.

gets dusty easier - it takes about a minute to clean mine, l could let it go for 2 or 3 months with out cleaning but would take longer to clean.

noisier - fto1 case just about silent, using 900rpm fans 13db each.

not viable if you own cat/dog/etc - radiator grills, l take it you mean dogs or cats chewing it up. l have two cats they don't like the tubing[smell] and don't go near the fans when they are running. As for dogs you can train it not to chew, etc.

temp difference is marginal - l got a 3'c drop at least.

Again one large rad works out cheaper than two rads + silence, easier to install and maintain.

water features are fun hard to get a good water feature going on inside a case..

id like one of those huge wave machine effects as my resevoir at sometime in the future just not got around to bulding it yet

guess thats not exactly a rad i know but you can just do more outside a case
