Over clocking help

when cpu is at 100 percent it moves from 1.880v to 1.212v should i reduce the dvid so its more constant or lower LLC its on medium just now

you can do either,a lower llc will usually drop the voltage the same as by two or three clicks dvid

or you can leave llc as it is and try one or two clicks less dvid, whatever is best for you and stays stable

im kind of worried now ive noticed a constan orange led under just under my GFX card not a clue what is and I had a pch or what ever it is temp warning from easy tune, also their is a smell of warm plastic (almost like burning) ive scanned the mobo made sure their are no wires touching and hot places only wire I have touching any metal is my fan wire coming down the side of my rad and even when heavy over clocked my rad is barley even warm to the touch. ok led is bios indicator one problem solved now I need the smell and wonder why Easy tune 6 is saying 41 degrees is high for the pch when other say its fine lol

should be fine, try with hardware monitor program its free

41c is fine

sorry I didn't reply earlier ive only just come on

for 4.5ghz did you try high llc and maybe +0.030 or +0.040v dvid?

ok mate I will once I get this smell sorted out I think it may be PSU as its not always there only when its been on for a while I don't know maybe psu fan isn't kicking in but my corsair tx 650 is only about a year old. and do not worry about reply I do not expect you to be on forums 24/7 mate lol

idk what the burning smell is? how old is the power supply? they usually smell a lot for the first few weeks if brand new, same goes for motherboard and gpu,all your temps look fine in hardware monitor

yeah mate my psu is about 1 year old the mobo cpu ram and water cooling are less than a month old so im just trying to elimate one by one

have you given up:confused::eek:

where are you at now 4.5ghz? delidding is the best upgrade you can do but it is risky

im delidded and see much much better temps with air

everything was on auto, ill post some full bios settings when I get time

but everything was on auto and medium llc with +0.010v dvid for 4.5ghz

I set cpu vcore voltage response to fast and pwm phase control to extreme

yeah i saw that i have had to set llc to turbo and +0.40 dvid to get to 4.5ghz but ive been working with 8 pack on my temps as im sure my cooling should be perfoming better im felling kind of ripped off paying 180 pounds for cooling that isnt performing. on 4.5ghz with 2.84v my temps vary from 70 to 75c (people on air can easily match this) was the hottest on prime FFT test (ive re seated about 7 times now) tryed different tentions on the pins as to make sure im not warping my board. If this continues i may RMA the kit and be done with it seems like major major hassle for nothing. But i really want to get it sorted i like the look of water now if only it would perform (i put on OCCT linpack mode and quickly two core touch 80c and the test stops as this is how i set it)

its not your fault though, its intels crappy way of using cheap paste underneath the cpu heatsink and the die (no matter what cooling you use it will run hot due to the paste they use)

that's why delidding lets you clock much higher, ive also seen a fair few 3770k's run a lot cooler with less volts than the 3570k's

i hope it is just the chip im pretty gutted to be honest i know my chip on 4.5ghz wont get to hot as it will never get to those sort of temp with out stress testing. id just like to thank you for being so helpfull even tho at times its not that easy dealing with a noob lol
