Any real benefit in changing from a happily / cooly running 2600K at 4.5Ghz to this setup? (Lowered from 4.7Ghz for the summer and left it there lol )

Been out of the loop a bit recently, making an effort to avoid the current crop of CPUs but i'm getting the urge again.

A 2600K running at those speeds will be faster and you have the additional hyperthreaded cores.

Unless you really want Z77 then I probably wouldn't change. I'd just buy a Z77 board and put your 2600K in it :)

Was the overclock significantly reduced because of the extra ram?:)

I wondered about this, but when it arrived it booted at 4.2ghz. :cool:
Ram is at 1600mhz and I'm going to leave it there.

On another note, what temps do others that have bought this bundle get ? I'm on 40c at idle and about 65/70c after an hour of gaming. Maybe I need to re-do the thermal paste ? (Arctic Silver)
