*******OCZ 6GB Tri-Channel @ 1800MHz OC £69.99*******

Yes, you read that right. Myself and Locky (Predominantly Locky[Credit where due;)]) spent a few minutes abusing this rather unassuming kit.

With the CPU @ 3.6GHz (i7 920) the RAM flew in at stock voltages and timings of 9-9-9-24 @ 1440MHz.

So, obviously we decidied that wasn't good enough and cranked the abuse levels up a bit resulting in:

Not bad for a £69.99 kit eh?

All that was needed for this ridiculously great overclock was :

1.66V for the RAM
1.38V for the QPI Voltage.
All timings at stock.

A random selection of 8 kits were tested and all passed Prime testing at these speeds.

If that wasn't enough, we cranked things up to the "Suicide Mission" level of madness and:

Nuff said I think. What a piece of kit. It made it into windows at 2000MHz and remained stable with general tasks but crashed in Prime , but to be fair that is more than reasonable fo a £69.99 Kit with a rated speed of 1333MHz.

Results will obviously vary with Boards, BIOSes etc. So, if you want a £69.99 Inc VAT bundle of Tri-Channel, 6GB awesomeness.....you'd have to be mental to even bother looking past this little beauty! :D

Right, now I am damn glad I bought that stuff last week instead of anything more expensive!

I am going to clock the nuts off 'em tonight! Thanks for the info :)

i must say - all the memory manufacturers are making fantastic headway with their triple channel offerings at the moment

the 2000MHz Kingston kit has amazed me
this little ocz kit has been brilliant today - we couldnt believe it passed memtest at 1800
especially with the chip clocked

the kingston kit did 2048 when i pushed it which is stupid - but this stuff goes up by two whole speed ratings!!!

i might have been impressed with the dominator GT - but AndyOcUK snatched that from me as he didnt want it treating too severely ;)
[he knew i would give it back to him with a usb stick full of screenshots and a burning smell coming from each module :D]

hats off to the memory manufacturers at the moment

£70 for a triple channel, branded, warrantied, 6GB, heatspreader kit? - well you would be mad not to

wish it was this price when i was buying my i7 components!!!

just be careful - i might come over and warranty void ALL your hardware!!!

[still reign supreme on cpc benchmarks:D]

I tried 2000mhz on the plats but it didn't boot, maybe if I used 2t, it might work. That was at 1.65v 9-9-9-24. 1800mhz worked but not for long lol.

While overclocking the ram, I though I'd try the cpu to 4ghz after the ram failed. It booted fine at 1.376v but a quick LinX test saw the temps shot to 80 degrees...that didn't last long.

the tests above were on a gigabyte ud5 with the nice memory dividers that some other boards dont have
