Total i paid was ~£860, total here is £920 (i won't add shipping), without the crysis pack.

Certainly not a knock, as i love the site, product range, reviews, information, forums and ESPECIALLY the special offers which are very impressive. However, for the average system building buying a whole system of parts, they aren't so great :(

The simple fact of the matter is that price dictates for a lot of people. A Q6600 or a 8800GTX is pretty much the same wherever you buy it from.

Couple with this free delivery you can get from other places and unfortunately this is where OcUK lose out.

I happily paid £15 for postage that was packed excellently and the prices aren't the same everywhere as i've shown above. What justifies an almost £20 difference for a Q6600?

We are looking into PayPal & Google Checkout currently but key is trying to get the fees down...

Watch this space!

I dont know why people need paypal, if they are the card owners then it should be no problem, its not like your site is not secure or anything.

Also, accepting paypal/google checkout is only gonna put prices up as yoru gonna incur costs from the fees.

steer clear i say

Agreed. Paypal is the worst thing ever invented. Don't mean to insult people here, but only idiots would use it as a payment of choice over other methods. Just google it! It's unbelievably unsecure.

As to google checkout, didn't know people bought stuff off here daily, i need to get a new job. Whats the problem with entering a card number.

Prices are good in general, the postage lets the whole deal down though. Free postage is becoming a norm these days.

Its been the norm for well over a year at certain places, the longer ocuk go on without offering this the more custom they will eventually lose.

The main reason I don't use OcUK is the prices are consistently ~£10 more than anywhere else.

Also, quite a few competitors offer free postage (or at least much cheaper than OcUKs').

That's not to say I don't like OcUK. The website is excellently laid out and they stock quite a lot of stuff, but I'll always go where the prices are cheapest.

What he said, think the stock range is what keeps me looking at the site, pretty much has everything, particularly niche stuff. Postage is a non-issue when prices are consistenly higher across the board anyway.

Just bought a keyboard for 20 odd quid.

P&P was £8!

Not too happy but didnt find it better somewhere else for a better deal.

When i ordered my system other week P&P was free, much better IMO :P

I do agree free delivery over £XXX would be good, Paypal etc seems a silly idea.

I always buy from OcUK when I can, i know when they say its in stock it acually is, I can phone up and speak to a person, It'll nearly always be here the day after ordering and they dont stock **** that I have to filter through to find what I like.

For all that I dont mind paying a small % premium

Postage is always the killer, it's too expensive and City Link never fail to mess me around. I'm using competitors more and more as there isn't £9 postage and multiple days of being told you were 'carded' when you weren't.

OcUK seems to be cheap on a few key items, but everything else is increasingly expensive. Sounds like a supermarket business strategy to me...

Used to order everything from ocuk but in the past 14 months only 2 orders have been made totaling £250,the other 10-15 orders have been made elseware totaling £1500 from somewhere that offer free delivery.

I now only shop where i can get the best value for my money.

yep free postage on amounts greater than X, or items lighter than Y..

+ option for other delivery companies, i had the worst experience from citylink.. i should have created a thread about it but the jist is, i order usb stick + SD card, wasnt at home when delivery came.. went to citylink warehouse, gave slip, dude brought me an empty package!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. i was like are you serious!?.. came close to flipping out

Options for other delivery companies? Is this new? The only other option was Royal Mail and they are just as bad as City Link, well I've had nothing but good experiences with City Link, even though they say delivery after 9AM on some shops I always get my delivery around 8-8:30AM its great, I guess the busier it is the easier City Link fall over.

Couldn't care less about Paypal or Google Checkout (unless Google do another offer where they knock a tenner off the final price).

The total price is what sways me, and OcUK's postage costs can make a large dent in this unfortunately.

The place i ordered my entire PC of components from will charge £5.95 shipping just for a mouse, here, the same is £2.99. My PC components were charged by weight to the tune of £15. Again, i think it's £12 here.

I wouldn't complain, these are premium stores. One big site that offers free package that i'm sure you all know, doesn't even have my CPU cooler listed along with several other components. Get what you pay for.

Both places offer the best product range by far and i won't buy crap tbh. For one, i'll be buying my Razer mouse from here as it's no cheaper elsewhere and P&P is cheaper than my usual vendor.
