Quick intro: I haven't overclocked a CPU since the 3rd gen Intels, so I am rusty to say the least. I recently replaced my 7700K with a Ryzen 1700 for better rounded performance, and decided to overclock it properly while I was at it.

So far I've managed to reach 4Ghz @ 1,375v stable (an hour of Prime95, Cinebench and some gaming) on custom water. It runs about 63C once the loop heats up, which seems fine. However I wanted to double check none of my BIOS settings are working against the OC (ability to clock down as needed would be nice) or might be too high compared to safe voltages.

Clock Ratio 40
Core Performance Boost : Off
SVM Mode : Off
C-State Control : Off
Downcore : Off

Memory is running at 2933 (3200Mhz TridentZ RAM)

Vcore: 1.375v
Dynamic Vcore: Auto
VCORE SOC: 1.1v
Dynamic SOC: Auto
VDD18: 1.8v
VDDP: Auto
DRAM V: 1.2v
DDRVPP: 2.5v
DRAM Termination: 0.56v

Seems fine, voltage is fairly decent for 4ghz. My 1700X needs 1.38 for 3.9. It wont clock down unless you use a PState overclock, I think. Doesn't matter the clocking down thing, doesn't really use more power and still idles with low temps.

If it is indeed stable then that's a very good voltage for 4GHz. Grab IBT and see if it will pass 10 loops at Very High. If it does you've got a very good CPU.

I wouldn't trust Cinebench as a test, I can run loops of that all the way to 4.1GHz but it'll crash in everything else in seconds. Prime, make sure you are using the latest beta or it won't test your Ryzen properly http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=22377 .

Cinebench is just my go-to for a quick "is it remotely stable?" test. If it crashes there, I have no need to run Prime. Back to BIOS and tweak. I haven't tried the latest Prime beta, but I'll give it a go now. Been running +20 minutes stable so far at the aforementioned settings. Loop is holding at ~60C

Yeah it's good as a quick indicator, you know if it fails cinebench then it's really unstable :D

I tend to do, quick cinebench, if it passes that then IBT V.High 10 loops, if it passes that then Prime95 for a few hours.
