Does it actually make it any better?

Ive got a GeForce GTX 570, default at 732Mhz & 1900Mhz but I dont really see much difference from how it was @ stock, compared to how I have it now @ 810Mhz & 2010Mhz.

Ive been playing Deus Ex and it seems just as smooth as it was before I overclocked it, but if anything, known again the game will jerk for a split second and if anything it does that a little more often now that its overclocked.
Also on cutscenes, something weird has started to happen.. Not sure if it was doing this before hand and I just didnt notice it, but now on cut scenes.. its as though when a certain clip has finishes, the cutscene will like "shake" and play the last second of that clip its just played.. like repeats it... weird

My main question is basically,

With me Overclocking my GeForce GTX 570 is it at all possible for performance in games and in general to decrease?

I'd like to ask the same question about my Processor too, Intel Core i5 2500k

Which Ive overclocked to 4.2Ghz which Im happy with and runs stable and nice temps.

Thanks

No Overclocking.

Only CPU Overclocked

Only GPU Overclocked

CPU & GPU Overclocked

Physics and Combined score is higher when only the GPU is overclocked, those scores are lower when the CPU & GPU are overclocked together.

Weiiiirrrrrrd.

800Mhz Core Clock and 2000Mhz Mem Clock are the graphic card speeds im sticking with. Increasing or Decreasing each speed by 10 each time.
So 810 / 2010, 820 / 2020 etc.
CPU is at 4.2Ghz

Are these values OK? I know the CPU is fine but the GPU Im wondering about.
Is 800/2000 good or is there some rule I should know about when overclocking GPU's.
Like is there a prefered memory clock depending on what the core clock is set as?

very strange. my only thought is that the overclock isnt quite stable on either the CPU, GPU or RAM.

for the CPU do an hour long test of prime95 with small FFT. for the memory do memtest. for the GPU do at least a 1/2 hour test and make sure it passes with no errors. you could also try OCCT PSU test which stresses the CPU and GPU at the same time. not done that myself but its worth a go

if that doesnt bring up any problems then i'll be just as confused as you are

what should I test the GPU with mate?

Ive used IntelBurnTest and that said the CPU is stable, havent really done any GPU testing other than 3D Mark and playing games..

Could voltage have anything to do with it?
If you know the way the voltage works on my motherboard, its dynamic voltage and Ive set it too -150

Thats minus 150

Thats the lowest it works stable at

sorry, meant to say that in my post. use OCCT gpu test because its one of the few stress testers that records all graphical errors.

Just installed OCCT, never seen this before, just want to ask before I do anything that could harm my computer

I see CPU: OCCT, CPU: LINPACK, GPU: OCCT, GPU: MEMTEST

Do I just click on GPU: OCCT and then click the green button? Or should I be changing any settings

Also is this OCCT the mem test you meant to use aswel, or something else?

So

1. CPU testing - Prime95 with Small FFT for 1 hour.
2. GPU Testing - GPU: OCCT for half hour? What Settings?
3. Mem Testing - ????? Memory Ram or GPU Memory ?

set 4 days asside for stability testing
set 10H for Memtest (to test your ram)
10H+ for prime Blend test for CPU and RAM then if its stable with that top it off with quick 7 passes with intel burn test (maximum settings) please note temperatures at this stage keep cpu 70oc below if you can....
Run Furmark to max GPU heat 30min to 1H as this is a killer test on ur graphics cards...
**IF for any reason ur GPU's are running TOO hot install MSI Afterburner and adjust fan profiles to where you can maintain good temps in furmark try to keep them under 90oc with furmark or there abouts is what your aiming for...
run GPU OCCT run it for 3-5H this will show any instabilitys if ur graphics cards were stable in furmark this should be an easy pass...
run Heaven loop for 3 hours while monitoring temps through GPUZ and REALTEMP or CORETEMP (this is for general stability with graphics *CPU is already stable at this stage if u have ran the above tests and passed)

once all this is done load a high resource game and play for several hours congrats you have a iron stable system...

is OCCT a burst test?? or is it like a prime long timescale test... never knew how long to run it for really... it gives me about the same temps as furmark
