Not with a 2160 he can't - he's at 9x already.



This is partly why the E5200's look nice - 12.5 multi means you're unlikely to hit a FSB wall before the chip runs out of steam.

i meant higher multi than what i suggested [8X]

i think you are pushing it to its limit from what jimbo is saying

perhaps trying a few values and seeing if its stable would be the best way to go

Aye sounds like I've reached the limit with this chip. I'll try a few more things but I'm not sure I'll get it over 3GHz.

Probably FSB limited.

The E2xxx chips very often struggle to get past ~340 fsb.

If you've a low multi, you're stuck.

Even my 10x multi 2180 runs out of FSB before the chip runs out of overclock.
