I don't wish to cause any discomfort to all of you overclocking enthusiasts. However if you have a stable system that is fast, efficient and lets you accomplish all your tasks with consummate ease is there any point in overclocking?
Oh okay for instance you buy a Q6600 for x amounts but you can get the same performance out of that if you overclock it than another CPU that costs 3X amounts.
tbh it took me a few weeks of asking questions before i got around the basics. im still a novice but just dont stick too much voltage though stuff and dont let temps get too bad and there aint many things to worry about.
I would keep it below about 60-65c load and 1.475-1.5v. Most q6600s will do 3.2ghz on very little voltage increase (1.3-1.35ish)....after that more voltage is usually required
