Overtaking rant

Bit of a sidetrack - but I'm amazed at the number of people who don't know how to overtake. Used to travel the A9 between Perth and Inverness regularly. People would sit 3 feet off the bumper of an artic, then swerve out to see if it was clear. They really didn't understand that by sitting about 10 feet further back they could see the entire road in front, plus gain a little momentum rather than pulling out in 5th and panicking because they aren't actually going anywhere!

What sucks is people who dont want to overtake but don't leave a big enough gap between them and the car in front. So people who DO want to overtake now need to do 2-3 people at once.

Done that before, 3 or 4 cars all tootling along a straight nsl road at 50mph. Im sure at least one of the 3 cars in fornt wants to overtake but doesn't...

Does get exciting though :D

Light cars suck and are made of cheap plastic. If your girlfriend can open the passenger door with complete ease then frankly your car isnt well built enough ;)

I drive around 300 miles every week along a single carriageway A road. I know all the safe spots to overtake but when I do I am often received with flashing of headlights and hand gestures.

You lot sound like a bunch of qeers :D "needing" 200bhp to overtake, don't be so wet!

That reminds me of being on holiday in Rhodes, I was driving a Hyundai Altos hire car and was enjoying the European driving style and was over taking a run of about 4 cars and the locals were flashing their lights at me :D

People always think my car is locked when they go to get in as the door handle is so stiff :D

Nope every Focus I've been in always has the same. It's funny seeing someone trying to open the door thinking it's locked :p

Or do the classic, unlock it and JUST when they are about to pull the handle lock it again! I only do this to my girlfriend and only because it annoys her loads
