That's a great idea, similar to putting all the cheaters on their own servers instead of banning them in csgo (and not mentioning anything about it).
 
So far I've only reported 1 person for trolling a competitive game (they admitted it in the chat)

I joined a quickplay game the other day that was close to finishing on Hanamura and noticed all my team were Torbjrons so I also chose torb also for the lolz and some guy said he reported us all. Not sure on what basis though as I came in late and all being Torbs (and winning) isn't exactly against any rules AFAIK.
 
I think I've reported 2 people, both for the same thing... Being abusive and then when they didn't get their own way holding the team to ransom, i.e. "if player X doesn't switch right now I'm going to AFK in spawn the rest of the game, enjoy losing a 5v6" :mad:

There's no vote-kick, most probably because if there was it would be abused by the exact same types of people as just another tool to bully people with... "if player X doesn't switch me and my 2 buddies in my group are going to kick you"... and also because competitive doesn't back-fill empty slots so you'd effectively be voting yourself into a (probably) unwinnable 5v6...

No idea what the solution is... all you can do is report them at the end of the game and hope Blizzard make-good on their strict attitude towards this type of thing

There are a Korean trio who were ranked 3, 4, and 5 I think. Saw it on the reddit OverwatchUniversity thing.

A lot of folks assumed they were deliberately deranking to get super-easy opponents (i.e. if your team is rank 70, 70, 70, 70, 70, 3 then your opposition might be all mid-40s, and you'll stomp them every game).

Its part arena shooter part moba.

Quake was doing that futuristic running jumping fast paced action thing long before Call of duty even existed.

Think more like Team Fortress, Unreal Tournament, Quake, with some aspects of MOBAs thrown in so Think League of Legends, Dota 2

It literally is nothing like COD.

So frustrating that they are waiting for season 2 before removing sudden death. Is there a worse way to lose a close fought battle than the flip on a ****** coin? :(

I agree with everything except I'm not sure I'd go as far to say "lots of MOBA aspects"... it's got distinct heroes with cooldown-based abilities and ultimates, I can't think of anything else about the game that is remotely MOBA-like... The importance of team-fights, maybe? (or perhaps I'm ignorant of the similarity in some other mechanics I hadn't thought of?)
 
Agreed, lots was a poor choice of words. "some" with that some being the distinct heroes and their different abilities / ultimates etc.. as you've already conceed.
 
I'm still impressed that Blizzard pulled off a 20+ character roster that, for all intents and purposes, is pretty well balanced.

I know they had a year of testing, but it's a remarkable achievement for a first person shooter.
 
Yeah and they've patched any imbalances pretty quickly too. Fair play to them. It ain't perfect but what game is? I'm really enjoying it. It's frustrating losing and having no control coz your other half of team is absolute dog but that's not the fault of the game.

im 31yr old gamer so im far from new to games :rolleyes:.


i had watched videos of BO3(plus own it on 360) pretty much moments before overwatch and the videos i saw showed idiots playing it like they play cod with all the jumping around and spawn camping **** and whatever which is where i got the sense from.

i know its not technically anything like cod, im not an idiot or blind.

so because the game enables you to jump high it's like COD ?

Your argument is a bit thin. The movement style is nothing at all like black ops 3 and is much like Destiny if anything.
 
Can we stop jumping down his throat? He said "Not played it, but how it looks from videos..." and has happily clarified that "the videos i saw showed idiots playing it like they play cod". At no point did he say they are particularly similar games to play, and in fact made it clear he'd not played it.

Just because you find the letters COD to be triggering is no reason to over-react.
