Finally hit diamond rank. After calibration at 2700 and then dropping to 2300 it has been a long slog but fun! Mostly solo queue.

Can't find the post from earlier in this forum but I have to say thanks to whoever it was as it has really changed my mindset in the game which I think.has helped me a lot in dealing with randoms. I.e. don't worry about your team to much, pick your character and simply be the best one sixth of the team that you can be! Can still be frustrating but at least you can leave the game honestly feeling like you played well!
 
So just done a quick play and was playing against 2 bastions that were set up outside of the map by the payload and just shooting us through the wall but we couldn't shoot them.
Thought blizzard was supposed to be good against cheaters?
 
Played hundreds and hundreds of games and yours is the first complaint of hacking I have heard. Hardly endemic. Not saying there isn't more but compared to many fps games this seems quite hack free. Hope you reported them?
 
Yeah by no means am I saying its riddled at all, I had to ask my teamates how to report them as never had to do it before, just a heads up really as commonly with these type of glitches they get more and more abused until they are patched.
 
Have properly tanked solo queuing from 2200 to 1950, the lower you get the worse the play seems to get with even the basic team set up getting ignored. Im not a good player but even the basic 2-2-2 seems beyond some people with 2 sniper auto picked and no one wanting to go support...or torb on attack, i dont mind losing if we have played as a team but when someone gimps your side just to get a few extra kills it winds me up...i actually raged today at someone, which i dont think ive ever done before in any game, they refuse to leave spawn for some ****** reason calling everyone noobs grrr
 
Season high of 2605 at the moment. Maybe a push into Diamond is possible :)

Still think far too many players across a huge range of skill levels hit high gold/low plat levels that shouldn't be there :x
 
My season high is 2671 but currently languishing around 2410... have switched to a policy of taking a break and/or playing some quick-play if I get 2 consecutive losses, as I think I definitely start to play worse by that point... Climbing to diamond isn't looking very likely at this point but you never know!

God the flaming and endless toxicity though, it's really annoying... Costs games more often than not too... Had a guy pick Junkrat on attack last night and another on the team started having a big go at him "switch junk or gg lose" etc. and eventually when he got no response to that switched to widow and say "fine then wp junkrat"... In desperation I said something like "Come on, stop flaming him - why don't we just discuss our tactics... Junkrat, is that your main or do you know any other heroes?" - he immediately responded and said "I can play Pharah well but I'm worried if they have mcree"... "Okay well I can try and focus him if they do" etc... In the end he did give Pharah a go, the other guy on our team switched back and we did great and won! The Junkrat player even said "See if you flame me I will never switch no matter what" and at the end the other player said sorry and all was well...

Nice one dude! Despite never reaching my entry rank of 2645 since and several streaks of both winning and loosing, I'm in no way turned off by it all. I have so much fun in 90% of the games I'm in regardless of the result.


Still wish the ratio of payload to capture the point games was even though. I much prefer capture mode to payload. I feel that payload forces certain picks like Rein/Zarya/Lucio where capture is a little more lenient in that sense. Plus, it's just more fun and you can go on mad streaks :P

I think most people could reach Diamond with a lucky streak.

Has anyone seen a notice of the season 2 rewards yet?
 
I don't know if thats completely true. I like that going from game to game you are forced to pretty much change character fairly regularly... keeps things fresh. Only character I have not played at all is Mei... I think I must have a revulsion to anything Mei related from dying to her annoying freeze/headshot combo so often.

That being said, I have avoided competitive for a few weeks, I broke my headphones and need to solder a repair. I would rather not lose ranking points because I can't call out the flanking genji.
