Overwatch

I have been playing Lucio a lot more, really enjoying him.

We should really get a group together for comp. It does help that if you play well your ranking barely drops even if you lose.

Also, sick of getting duplicate anniversary skins, got mei and tracer 3 times but still outstanding others.

Comp is all luck. Down from 1600 to 1100 and just can't escape. No team play, no voice comms nothing. Enjoy this game but getting a bit frustrated now...

You really do need the right team to get you places, this game solo is difficult. People (at this SR anyway) do not want to work as a team.

You'll find this until the high 2000's, and most people at that level seem to think they know the game better than anyone. God save you if you stray away from the 'meta' and the 'must pick' heroes.

As I said earlier in this post, I stick to my main 3 now, which in order is Widow, Mei and Zen. Oh the stick I get for Widow... Even more fun when I switch up to Zen when it's needed and still keep gold elims...

I had an infuriating experience the other way when we had an enemy Junkrat and Symmetra literally killing our whole team while our Pharah decided not to fly into the air to kill them (ground Pharah). The second round I went DPS and countered them but third round and thereafter the person in question refused to go tank or healer and stayed Mcnoob with of course, horrible results.

Another incident that I had (ANY HELP TO FIND THE VIDEO WOULD BE GREAT) is some guy clearing smurfing (he was brilliant) and I messaged him saying as a joke "Are you a pro in-disguise?"; he proceeded to add me and said look out for the YouTube video soon and after chatting for a bit and asking who he was really. His in-game name was "Lust".

Well I get up to 2229 after my initial 2155. 11 wins in 6 hours play... down to 1994 now I think. Sigh. Very frustrating. Think lost 13 games in a row.

When starting a match, the overall SR of the opposite teams always seemed to be 100+ higher. I also notice that most players have gone passed 100 multiple times and I'm the only one low level (33 currently I think). I dunno if I'm just being placed in higher skill matches and getting a hard time of it, or this is the level I'm supposed to be at.

I don't mind being lower if it means being able to get some damned enjoyment from it. My experience of comms is either none existent or have been on nice communicative teams, no toxicity as such compared to CS:GO, so on that front not too bad. I am playing whatever is left over though hero wise, I am versatile but not always on the ball with what's going on it's so frantic.

Playing outside of comp is really easy in comparison so learn nothing from that really as people are just messing about for the most part.

Hopefully the rank will settle and I'll get to play some more enjoyable games again. Tis frustrating as the placements were great fun.

You understand it doesn't match people's levels up for games, just SR. Higher level just means more experience. If SR (how good someone is) is made up of a number of factors, including experience, then that just means they perhaps aren't a good aim, or don't position themselves well, compared to others at that SR.

So I gained 38 levels over the weekend and have all the anniversary skins except Zarya, which I wouldn't have minded.

Started playing Lucio a bit better too, usually I was just staying in healing mode most of the match and sticking around the group to keep them healed. I now speed boost around when there's not that much healing need killing and bothering the enemy and wallriding everywhere then popping back to pop off a few heals, seems to work really well on KOTH.

Love wallriding around contesting the point when I'm the only one there.

Ah I didn't even realise there was an OW thread on here, I feel a lot of catching up is needed. Only been playing this since Jan this year but really enjoying it still, level 135 at the moment thanks to double xp weekend

BUGGER?!!?! I forgot it was double xp this weekend :( Missed out on that. I'm 90 at the moment.

To be fair I did the same until Sunday afternoon, still though, a level every 3-4 games so still made some progress.
Not sure what happened to competitive this season, came in at 1246? about 700 shy of last season, won 5 last 4 and 1 draw, I was teamed up with a friend so not sure how that effects rating

Ok cool, maybe I just played bad, didn't feel that way though. Still can't get my head around how it ranks players. Even last season I won 7 of 10 and played really well and still didn't break the 2000 mark. Either way if I'm in bronze maybe I'll have a few easier games.

So excited! I got offered the use of a friends + family discount via a relative of my other half... 50% off... As tempting as it is to re-mortgage my house and get one of everything I'm not allowed to take the **** so thinking of getting the Snowspeeder, Slave I and (after seeing the pics above) Saturn V... I already have the Falcon and Resistance X-wing so building up quite a collection :D

errrr..........:confused::confused:

Had a blast with Mei earlier. They had a Genji and Winston so I just went after them like a Mei possessed. Something like nearly 60 eliminations haha. I love using the ice wall to seperate people from their healers or to block an ult.

Competitive struggles are certainly real! Just had a quick game, I only played Widow as I was doing well with her (she's my main), 48 eliminations and top damage. Both gold. Yet there is always some little kid know it all screaming "REPORT, WIDOW NOT CHANGE!!!"... Half my team were telling this idiot to shut up as I had double his elims and he was playing reaper and kept changing. Why don't they get it? Seriously?

I think from this point onwards, I'm turning both text and voice chat. Had enough of these kids that watch streamers in master or higher and think they know it all.

Just had an amazing game, pushing the payload on Route 66. We defended, not all that well, they went all the way with time to spare. We pushed, only just made point one and then got it all the way in OT. We have 1 minute, so spend most of the next 10 minutes (possibly longer) in overtime, pushing the kart, they just couldn't get us off it. It was meters from the finish, literally for maybe 5 minutes. Finally they killed us all, just as Mercy res'd, but too late.

Unfortunately, at some point they had had a DC for a period of time. Then on their attack (back to 6) they had another DC and we held them quite quickly. Still, 29+ minutes for the game, was soooo tense. Also, some reasonable voice comms, thankfully our guys hadn't turned off and would call out when they changed up and people flanking.
