Hello there and happy new year,

Request for the Gigabyte specialist.

As I know for some new laptops, for you to get them quicker, you order them with some customs specs, do you think it would be possible for you to get them as they are in North America with :
GTX 970M 6GB | 8GB RAM | 128GB SSD + 1TB 7200RPM HDD

so basicaly it would be with 6GB(BOOSTED VRAM) insatead of the 3GB.

I think I would fancy a model with 512 SSD or 256SSD as well..

Finaly, in Canada the X3+ V3 with 970m is already available

When will you ge them?

Hi lesteph,

Yes, yes and yes.

P34W is coming to UK very soon with GTX970M 6GB Vram.

The current P34G, with GTX860M uses 4GB Vram Vs most competitor using 2GB.

AORUS X3+ V3,, watch this space!

I asked because in the Gigabye website it stated 3GB vram and not 6GB vram. So in UK it will be with 6GB Vram? Do you know which model and the spec you will get?

Sorry but which space ? There is only X3 with 870m for instance in OCUK

Atom, I bought the X3+ a few months ago and it's a great little machine. That being said, I'm dead keen to get the new v3 (970M). Any chance you can offer a trade in offer for the X3+? Anyone else want to buy a much loved X3+?

Hi Mrpetrov,

Although I cant help on the trade in unfortunately, I can let you know that the new V3 model with 6gb GTX970M should be available for shipping from OcUK in the next 2 weeks.

Okay that sounds good. Any idea what configurations? I'd love to see one with just an SSD inside.

Hi Robbsy,

Our initial launch models will be in these 2 configurations;

P34W V3-CF1
FHD Wide View Angle / i7-4710HQ / 8G / 128G + 1TB / GTX970M (6GB) / Win8.1

&

P34W V3-CF2
FHD Wide View Angle / i7-4710HQ / 8G / 1TB / GTX970M (6GB) / Win8.1

So at the moment no SSD only model, but this is something we can produce. Would you want to see 512GB SSD I presume?

Sorry to hijack. I bought a p35x but can't figure out how to set a boot up password (not admin). So every time I boot up it should ask me a password to access hd. My old samsung series 7 could do it no problem. Right now I'm having to disable all drives after I shut down which isn't a great solution as it means going back into the bios or uefi to enable. Latest bios using the update tool. Can u help? That's the only thing annoying me about it and im tempted to return it. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Hi xavier123,

We have had to pass this over to HQ technical team to look into for us, to ensure we give accurate reply.

Once we hear back we will let you know. Hopefully today, but its late in the day in Taiwan so it may not be until Monday.

Hope this is OK.

Hi xavier123,

Could you please post screenshot that will help our tech team identify the issue.

Something showing where problem is arising, and also maybe screen shot showing your driver versions.

Thanks,

Hi there, screenshots below. No matter what I do I cannot set up a boot password, the only option is to set an administrator password, i have the latest BIOS and the option isn't there. This is the only off putting thing about this laptop. My cheap 200 quid hp omni 10 windows 8 tablet has a bootup password, yet a 2k laptop from gigabyte does not have this option. I have tried every combination I can think off and never had problems setting up boot passwords in my life until this laptop. is there another bios file i can flash to fix this?

Sorry to butt in, but seeing as this has turned into an "ask about Gigabyte laptops" thread: I don't suppose you could tell me when the P34K v3's are coming to the UK could you? I've heard February for the US, is that the same for the UK and can you be any more specific?

Hi Xavier123,

We are in the process of getting solution for you. The feature does exist, but is hidden and may require some guidance from our R&D team.

James Bailey from OcUK will post shortly to ask for your order number, and request contact details so that he can pass to us so we can put you in touch directly with R&D team in HQ.

Thanks,

Hello there lesteph,

This is something which can be done on the laptop

Can you provide me with your OcUK order number please?

Do you also give me permission to pass on your contact details to the Aorus/Gbt support so they can get in touch to assist with the issue?

Regards

Bailey

Hi Art,

Not a problem, happy to answer on any subject,,, where relevant of course !

Schedule should be the same for UK, we expect goods to be in UK by the middle of February.

Also point to note, the spec has changed slightly from the post we made previously, the units will use 3GB vram, not 6GB, this is the same globally, not a UK decision.

sorry for the earlier mistake, so launch models will be:

P34W V3-CF1
FHD Wide View Angle / i7-4710HQ / 8G / 128G + 1TB / GTX970M (3GB) / Win8.1

&

P34W V3-CF2
FHD Wide View Angle / i7-4710HQ / 8G / 1TB / GTX970M (3GB) / Win8.1

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Gigabyte UK NB Team.
