P5B deluxe and installing Raid

If you are installing Windows XP (no idea about Vista yet) then yes you do need a floppy disk, Windows would automatically recognise the SATA drive with that motherboard (e.g. the motherboard fools it into thinking it is an IDE device for installation purposes) but Raid has always needed special drivers. :)

You can try slipstreaming the drivers on and I believe it ought to work but I'm not 100%, another option is to borrow the floppy drive back (or one from someone else), alternatively don't bother with Raid0 as for most people (e.g. not working with large contiguous files like video, graphics or sound) it doesn't offer that much of a benefit. :)

Thanks , heard the pro's and con's of Installing XP on Raid 0 , but thought i would give it a try and see what it feels like got 2 Seagate 7200.10Sata 320 gig and want to play with them . If i'm not impressed with it , what would be the best way to config the drives e.g.

Disk 1 :c:50 gigss for XP

That should be fine, you have rather more space than you would normally need for just an installation of XP if you use 50gb but I assume that is also for any/all other programs you install? If so that seems like a reasonable amount. :)

for xp u always need a disc - with vista i think in most cases its automatic..

Sorry, you've lost me here?

concretecow, if you just want to install XP and nothing else on the partition I'd probably allow something in the region of 10-15gb, most likely at the lower end since you have a separate partition for the page file. That allows for a bit of expansion and is a decent size. :)
