p5w dh mb temp? 52 idle??

Well its took me most of the morning to do both the North and Southbridges and the sum result is still a rubbish 52c. :(

Would sticking a 40m fan on the southbridge do it?

I tried and never noticed a difference

If my heatsinks are very hot they must be doing their job and the AS5 will be ok?

I can't understand this sensor  43C load just now but earlier it was 52! it just seems to be a random number between 42 and 52

Hey folks. I'm thinking of getting this mobo myself. Just a quick question - I notice in Graeme43's mobo prep guide that this mobo doesn't come with the correct BIOS for the Conroe cpu. Is that also the case with the Allendale (E6400) Core 2 Duo? As I have no way or knowledge on how to flash a BIOS, could I potentially be stuffed here?

Thanks.

edit: And if the supplied BIOS does work with the Allendale out of the box, should I then use the Asus facility to flash the BIOS with the newer version still? So that it's ready for upgrading to a Conroe at a later date. Would this create any compatability issues with using the Allendale on it until I decide to upgrade the cpu?

Thanks again.

I got my P5W DH Deluxe last week from OCUK and the bios version was 0701, anyway it booted up strait away with my E6600, the problem is, there has been some people that can't get this motherboard to boot with certain cpu's unless they have bios 1101, take a look at this thread > P5WDH won't POST, you should be ok with the E6400 and bios 0701 but there is no real way to tell for shure.

Thanks for that d.chatten. I have had a look at that thread already, but didn't seem to answer my question. Luck of the draw I guess - I'm going to be stuffed if it doesn't work though. I've got no way of using the mobo of flashing the BIOS as my current sysem is an AMD and I've not got an Intel CPU to install in it. Makes me think I should wait another month or so to see if ti sorts itself out. Guess the other advantage of waiting is that other mobo's should slao be on the market by then too.

Especially liked this one because of the 975X chipset and the x8 Xfire compatability. Could plump for the much cheaper Asrock XfireConroe, but don't like the idea of using the old chipsets and only having x4 Xfire.
