P5W64 Professional cpu temp readings are way too high!

This board has two 4 pin power cables at the top left and one has a blanking plate on it, my power supply OCZ 700W has two cables that will fit these,should i put both on or just leave one plugged in?

I've got the same PSU as you (FSP 700W, OCZ is a rebranded FSP) and I removed the black cap and used both cables, works fine. No point just using 4-pin if your PSU has the ability to do 8.

Might not make much of a difference either way.
 
Just flashed this board to the 0215 bios, good news is my multy can now go up tp 20x with my X6800, bad new`s is temp at stock is crap 45c idle,thinking of sending this board back and waiting for the DFI to come out :(
 
Same as mine then :(

Mine came with bios 0116 and that was just the same for me.

Its a shame as its seemed like a really strong overclocking board.

what was your temp before you updated bios?
 
No change in cpu temp at all and i have a lapped Tuniq Tower with the fan @ 2000 rpm, one minute im getting 45c then 34c, even this is bad as my DS3 x6800 @3.4ghz cpu fan on low i was getting 36c, like Devious i tryed reseating the cooler 4 time`s.

Also this make`s me think the board is borked, just tryed to overclock FSB from 266/280 and nothing will not boot at all, hardware monitor in bios say`s cpu temp 42c probe say`s 34, core volt @ 1.32v stock bios says 1.228 :confused:

As soon as i try to decode some motocross videos with winavi the temp on the cpu will go mental :?

Upping cpu volt to 1.4volts
FSB temination 1.20v
mch chipset 1.20v
tch chipset 1.05v

Like i said the DS3 worked well with my cpu but this ASUS not a hope in hell,going to send it back to the shop.

Just the same with the old bios :mad:

Just asked the shop for a RMA, paying almost £200 for a motherboard you think it would work without issues,also dont want to risk any damage to my x6800,now im going to be without a good pc for the next month just as BF2142 is coming out. :eek:
 
My RMA is back and I'm getting another P5W DH.

I might not even open it and just sell it as I'm getting hacked off with these so called top end mobo's costing 180 plus.

I have had zero issues with the DS3 up to now and it cost 96 quid.
 
im surprised youve not given a p5b deluxe a go, ive managed 475fsb with
the kentssfield, if you get atleast that your still way into the 4Ghz you want!

Same here m8 just sold my DS3, wish i stuck with it. :(
