Hi, just ordered a B grade one of these because my p6tse does not have sli and I'm getting another 480. Does this board give space between the cards and enough room for my pci sound card too?

Will the sli connector that came with the asus or is coming with the new 480 be ok for the space between slots on this board?

I assume you've bought an Asus P6T Deluxe v2 as this is the only one I can see in the B-Grade section.

You're in luck as there will be a PCI slot free between the 480's when you've fitted them.

You may be out of luck with the SLI connector. These are not supplied with Nvidia graphics cards but only with the motherboards. B-Grade products often come without some or all of the accessories originally supplied. You may be missing any or all of cables, I/O shield, manuals, driver discs, SLI connector and anything else that was originally supplied.

You'll just have to see what you get when it arrives.

If it is indeed a p6t dlx v2, pcie slot spacing is like this.

There may be room for the audio card between the gpu's, but i went with a xonar dx pcie card which sits above my topmost gpu. As the 480's are pretty hot running, the soundcard may block airflow to the top gpu when sanwiched between them.

No it was a P6T only in the listing not deluxe or v2 and is not on the B grade list anymore since I bought the last one.

It looked like there was a pci slot under the two pcie graphics slots though which led me to choose it because I figured that would be GFX space GFX space SOUND you know the board I mean?

Other thing is......just noticed I don't own an sli bridge and this might not have one. Can I buy any sli bridge off ebay? Be using the two blue slotsi n the pics below.

It is this

Not the best spacing on that board for SLI.

The 480's will go in the blue PCI-E slots with no space between them. Not the best for cooling.

The PCI slot below the second blue PCIE slot will be blocked so you'll need to use the one at the very bottom of the board.

And my previous comments about what you may or may not receive still apply.

Can you run in slots 1 and 3 or will that drop the 2nd card to 8x?

Can I buy any old sli connector as there are some 12cm flexible ones on ebay but might be a couple of years old are they all the same spec?

Thanks for help so far.

The 2 blue slots are x16 slots and the white one is only x4.

You really need to use the 2 blue slots.

You can use any SLI connector as long as it fits between the 2 cards.

You may get one with your motherboard. It's luck of the draw with B-Grade.

Thanks well is it best to run the new one with 3 fans on it the gigabyte blowing air onto the back of the asus reference because the asus is going to be the hotter of the two cards by miles.

The top card will be the hottest so that's probably where you should put the best cooled card.

I've just had a look through my old stuff.

I have a rigid 5cm long SLI connector which would fit between the 2 blue PCI-E slots and a rigid 9cm long SLI connector which would fit between the top blue PCI-E slot and the white PCI-E slot.

If you don't get an SLI connector send me a message via trust, with your name and address, and I'll pop them in the post to you.

Yeah they better :) it's for rift mostly which seems to give crysis a run for it's money performance wise or at least it would if they allowed 32xAA
