Hi

My new P6T Deluxe OC Palm Edition motherboard came today. I've just finished setting it up and installing windows ultimate 64. I went to install the disk that came with it and it says OS not supported. Any ideas as to what to do? Should I just try to download all the things I need from the Asus website? And if so what do I need? Thanks

That probably means the pretty front end to install the motherboard drivers doesn't like a 64 bit OS. Try browsing the CD and find the setup for each driver/application.

Andi.

yeah, asus website is your best bet, as the cd is probably out of date anyway. There should be a "select OS" option on the download site so hopefully it will give you the correct 64bit drivers.

Yeah I have just looked on their website and there's 33 files available but I don't really know what ones I need. And also theres just a P6T Deluxe option not a P6T Deluxe OC Palm Edition.

Use the global site, both vista and win7 64bit downloads show a lot more then 33 files available.

There are other downloads like utilities and what not, but best to sort the mobo out first i guess, man thats a list and a half lol.

Just incase u are worried, the palm and the deluxe are the same, i got all this from the global site, and from the palms page.

No probs rebel, think it took me about 30 mins in total to install all the updates on mine, even though my mobo was fairly new out, i still went the website route.

Took longer to download everything then it did to install lol.

Hope it helps though and u can get it all set up and running.

Im guessing thats the bios, and firmware updates, think u will have to put them to a bootable device, cd/usb drive and boot up with them.

Best to check the manual to be sure.

So far all my updates have been .exe, but i know when i get around to doing the bios that will be .rom and needs to be on a bootable device.

No probs rebel, glad its all up and running for you.

Which reminds me gotta update my bios at some point, bleh means going back to stock, but ahwell thank god for saved profiles lmao.

Lol its easy enough to do, just im a lazy sod, means routing around in my comp spares box for a pen drive. Might just pick one up when in town later, can't keep putting the update off.

Good luck with your forth coming clocking rebel, don't forget to take a look at that guide i posted in your other thread, and as allways we are here to help if needed.

Edit:

Forgot to pick a drive up, so had a look at ez flash to see if it would work without pen drive, and yay i don't even need to bother with pen drives as it can read from my storage drive which was a nice surprise, but sadly after going to the new bios, my OC profiles where whiped, but no biggy as i know my settings off by heart by now lmao, so new bios up and running, and back to old clock.

I read through the guide and will have another go at overclocking soon. Hope the temps are lower than before. I have 2 vipers on the h50 now, and 5 fractal fans in the case. My stock idle temps are 36c 35c 36c 33c (on a cool night) lol.

In the bios cpu q-fan is disabled, should I enable it?

Might aswell yeh, i have mine set to silent, but once in windows i use Ai suite/ Fan Xpert to set my own custom fan profile.

I have my fans set to run at 20% roughly 691rpm untill the overall cpu temp reaches 65c then it slowly starts to ramp up, but this is becuase im on custom water and can get away with that, you may not be able too.

Deffinatly use the callibrate cpu fan option in Fan Xpert, and have a play with the user profile for cpu fan.

But yeh the temps should be abit lower then before, especially as u are using 2 good fans, may not be a massive diff, but will def be some difference.

Im gonna annoy you now, last night when it was abit chilly compared to other nights, and with my window open my overclocked idle temps where 25 to 30 on the highest core hehe *runs off before rebel throws something at him*

I'll pretend I didnt see that!

I've started overclocking using that guide. I'll write up the results in my thread in the overclocking section later tonight.
