First of all, I'm a student and I'm in need for something loud and cheap! I already have some bookshelf speakers, but I want something which I can crank up more for parties.
I guess I'd be looking at a cheap PA speaker (or possibly 2, but I probably don't have the budget for this), under the £150 mark. It needs to be active and full range. I'd like to know what sort of connectivity/functionality you get with these sorts of units though. I mean, ideally I'd like to be able to plug it into the mains and have a line-in for a PMP or something.
I just have no idea what's available in this market so, really, all suggestions are welcome (though within the budget!).
For example, how do they deal with midrange since most of them seem to have one really large woofer and a tiny tweeter?
Thanks in advance, and sorry if I'm asking for the impossible (as I've mentioned, I'm a complete novice!).
EDIT: How about this, or possibly these?
