I went for my 25th with 12 mates in october to Delta Force - Leeds and had an excellent day. However it was a killer buying paintballs for £6.99 per 100. It hurt way more shooting some than getting shot - knowing everytime you shot someone 7p went flying out the end of your gun!

Why do they charge such extortionate prices? You can get 2000 for less than £20 on ebay. £5 for 500 sounds much better to me

Post here if you love paintballing but hate them charging you about a 1000% markup price. (They will get them for probably £10 for 2000)

I will be visiting ebay for 4000 balls before we go again, hopefully this month

Are you allowed to take your own balls?
I suspect that's where they make a lot of their money, no?

Edit - Just checked their website F&Q.

For health and safety reasons, and to maintain a consistent safety standard across all centres, you can only use paintballs issued by Delta Force on the day of your event.

It's where they make their money, like electrical stores and cables. They're a business not a charity.

It's a bit annoying when they impose some silly rule where you can't take your own paintballs.

Not to mention if the balls are cheap from the baythey might have poor quality, this means they can break in the barrell and mess it up, requiring the gun to be dismantled.

Delta Force are pretty expensive on paint from my experience - but they usually "compensate" that by having very low ground entry fees, and lots of special offers.

The other route, if you're a spray 'n' pray master, is to find a local ground with say, £5 or £10 entry fee and £5 per 100 balls.

Either way, I usually burn around £40-45 for a paintball session. Once went with a mate who put down so much fire he racked up a £120 bill!

There is a paint balling place literally 1 mile from us (next couple of fields over) and we get reduced entry for life

Last time I went it was full of kids 12-16, so I pretty much went lone wolf with hilarious consequences.

and this is one of the many reasons that Airsoft blows paintball out of the water.

last time i bought ammo i spent £7 on a bag of 10,000 rounds, and i bought three bags.
you can use your own ammo at any and every Airsoft site in the world.

Just take your own anyway. I've been paintballing once. We bought a ****load of balls from ebay and put em in a rucksack, then put the rucksack in a locker. We just went back after each round and refilled our clips.

I'm going to delta force Nottingham next weekend with some mates, they're all thinking that it's going to be cheap, I'll have to point this fact out to them. It's understandable with a full day costing £8pp (with an easily found discount code) they need to make money somewhere. If I'm not mistaken they do full pizza's for £3.50 or something so the paintballs is the only way of them making any kind of money

Edit just looked pizzas are £5 for 9" so not as I thought but not too bad. I imagine the shop is going to be rather expensive for soft drinks.

If you get caught they'll have no worries about kicking you straight out and probably banning you though

You can arrange closed games at some sites where more experienced players just effectively rent the site and use their own weapons and paint. I've watched a couple of these in awe over both the skill and amazing weaponry.
