Panasonic Microwave leaking !

Adults only please

I've bought two and the both leak more than the legal maximum 5.0 mW/cm, the current one is 7.0 mW/cm !!

I know this as I've tested them with a microwave leak detector.

Arrghh!

Presumably he has a Microwave meter.

If you are standing with your head right next to a Microwave when it's on, then you're probably a bit stupid. But I don't think you're in any real danger

I have a Panasonic NN-CT870WBPQ Deluxe

cost an arm and a leg one thing I have noticed is on combo oven mode if I cook jacket potatoes steam leaks out the bottom of the door slightly and makes a wet line at the left front of the microwave

although microwaves would likely bounce around inside and be trapped anyway

Plug the leaks with popcorn kernals. That way when the leak gets bad, it self-seals.

If it comes up with 7 on your tester you'd feel it - It's probably 0.7 which is almost nothing. Perfect is 0 obviously, but all microwaves leak a tiny bit... But if you're unhappy just get it replaced :/ Not freakin' rocket science.

EDIT: Just seen you've added units - that makes more sense

7 still isn't an enormous leak... Anything over 10 might be a bit worrying - but as I said, just replace it if you're not happy...
