Panasonic TZ5

I have just ordered one to replace my TZ1.

Going on Holiday next week and was weighing up if it justified the upgrade, but in the end, the iA and wider lens coverage swung it for me.

The TZ1 has been a great camera (Allowing for the noise problems in certain shooting conditions) and I look forward to taking this for a spin.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 Digital Camera
Samsonite Samoa DF30 Black Case
16GB Class 6 SDHC Card
Replacement Battery CGA-007

£248.

Does anyone know what the maximum memory card size is that the TZ5 will accept?

I have seen 32GB on ebay and while expensive I will be in Singapore next week where they will be quite a bit cheaper :)

32GB :| erm, have fun llosing that amount of pictures when the card give you "ERROR" :P if you biy it make sure you regularly back up your pictures. and sorry duno what the max memory size is

I must do the upgrade myself. I never even thought about the firmware so cheers for that.

Thankgod I bought the Panasonic Lumix Hard case cause I dropped the bloody thing in the street today. Best £7 I spent. I also got my two spare batteries for £8 and they have been flawless so far.

I just need a good holiday now to get some nicer sorts.

Getting one of these for my other half for her birthday. It's a shame I have to pass it on to her :(

I shall be giving my TZ5 a thorough testing next week, I am off to Malaysia (KL, Penang, Sarawak & Sabah) for 18 Days.

High humidity, tropical downpours & a bit of jungle treking will test its toughness. Long range Wildlife shots and close up temple shots will test both extremes of the optical performance.

I have killed a couple of cameras on my travels before, a Canon S1 IS (Rain Damage at Doubtfull Sound, NZ) & a Pentax EI-200 (Humidity sent it haywire in Daintree Rainforest, Queensland).

Hi guys,

Can I do the firmware upgrade without a using seperate card reader? So copying the file to the memory card whilst it is in the camera?

If not I guess I'll have to go and buy a reader...

Cheers

Just wondering if any of you guys have noticed something with the images saved. I have taken several hundred photo's and I was copying them onto the computer.

It appears that I have 80 odd photos which are identical but not just the photo itself but the actual size, time taken and even the filename is the same. I don't understand how you can have two identical files in the one folder.

Has anyone experienced this yet?

Sounds like you've got the mulit aspect ratio option turned on. Turn it off!!

EDIT: IGNORE ME.
