FML he managed to catch both AIDS and monkeypox and he's accusing others of a "lackadaisical approach"... nice of him to sleep with 10 partners after testing positive with AIDS too... I thought it was supposed to take quite a few months for AIDS to become undetectable yet he was only diagnosed in February according to the article.

He has HIV, not AIDS. One is a chronic but manageable condition, the other is a death sentence.

HIV does not become undetectable by itself, your viral load changes over time but becoming undetectable requires medical treatment.

I'm not an expert on UAE, but given it is criminal behaviour to be gay I strongly suspect they don't have regular STI screenings or access to prep (possibly condoms too?). Therefore, it's not a leap to imagine HIV infection rates are probably very high in the gay community there and go unreported.

Don't get me wrong, I find the article very strange. To me the strangest part is a gay guy willingly choosing to live in a country that sees you as a criminal...

Having monkey in its name makes it discriminatory?

Only a relative handful of people wrote to ask this, a drop in the ocean compared to the sensible folk that didn't bother. Why is the WHO paying any attention to this garbage?

Monkeys come from Africa (apart from the many that don't, but reality has nothing to do with this), therefore any mention of monkeys is hatred of everyone who claims the identity "black", regardless of how obviously inaccurate and stupid that identity is or where any person actually comes from.

It doesn't make any sense, but racial politics doesn't make any sense anyway so no surprises there.

Because it's a powerful ideology. Most organisations bow down to it either because the people running the organisation are followers of the ideology or because they're scared of the ideology. With good reason.

Had the reason been something like "it should have a new name because while it was first discovered in monkeys it's now known to not be particularly associated with monkeys", that would be a different matter.

Ooh, can't place any more blame on homosexual men for the spread than on 86 year old spinsters, can we? No Siree. Their modest and sexually prudent lifestyle can't possibly aid transmission of this monkey Pox. The first lines of the nauseating article you cite:

Just the average bunch of oversexed deviants in leather harnesses having lots of casual sex ... "Conference" indeed. The "honor" indeed <LOL> It's nothing remotely like the Miss America pageant, the comparison is ludicrous and grossly offensive.

did you read the full article ? I usually skip any click-bait type stuff and jumped those paragraphs. .... and ... did you learn something
